Not necessarily. Depends on the topography of the lot and the expansiveness of the surrounding decking.
I've seen some setups that look pretty damn nice. As nice as an in-ground pool? No. But far from trash. |

I just went through this ... My wife picked out a 33 ft by 54. I wish I knew everything I know now before I started this process.
It looks great ... It's basically a baby lake with the size we went with. It doesn't look white trash at all. However, like I said it's a crazy process and expect them to trash your yard. I am still in the process of yard recovery. |

Not worried about the white trash look because a) Got a friend who is a hell of builder to add on my deck b) another friend is a professional landscaper.

This. If you put decking all the way around it, doesn't look too shabby. Slap one of them bitches in the middle of your yard and use a ladder to get in? Trashy as shit.

That will go a long way then. Once I get my yard back things will be a lot better. What company are you looking to go with?

I feel like above ground is the way to go, a lot cheaper and if you wanted to get rid of it just remove it and throw down some grass.
