I don't think people realize how much ****ing damage a baseball bat would do. And I am not a small guy. Knock 'em out until the cops get there. Not to mention the trouble of shooting a gun in pitch black at night. Again, this only goes to situations where home invasions are people breaking in to get your stuff, not the ones where they are out for blood. And it seems like many home invasions today are poorly planned and simply people looking to steal things.

my BIL did something like this not too long ago. He was sitting on the couch with his daughter when some guy knocked in the back door, armed with a pipe of some sort. BIL got up and cold cocked him, called the cops, then gave the intruder a few more licks to make sure he stayed down.

he asked if he was wrong to hit the guy a couple more times, I didnt think he was.
