There are at least 8-10 quarterbacks I'd take before I'd take Mr. Laptop.
Yeah, he's hated and doesn't work. That's why he's had two straight 4,000 yard seasons and 66 TD's over the past two years with only one brokedick receiver.

The ****ing guy makes John Elway look like a chump.

That's false. He didn't have a 4,000 yd. season last year and he only threw 20 TD passes.

Yeah, I was off by 150 yards.

Sorry, I should have used the word "nearly", as I always do when describing Cam Newton.

And FTR, you don't know DICK about QB's or any other position on the field, for that matter.

Are you telling me that if he were a member of the Ravens or Redskins Patriots or Packers or 49ers, this guy wouldn't be "rated" as amongst the best, if not THE best QB in the league?

What are you smokin'
Those teams perform better partly because of the leadership offered by their quarterbacks.

The guy doesn't inspire anybody.

The guy has TWO years in the league and will likely play for another decade.

Who wouldn't want that guy?
RG3
Luck
Russel Wilson
Colin Kaepernick
Rodgers
Manning

That's just a quick list of guys I'd take over Cam immediately.

Leadership, integrity and intelligence are things that are arguably more important than physical ability when discussing a quarterbacks ability to win championship(s).

Cam Newton is a 23 year old kid. He's had enough maturity to break the rookie record for passing yards, his rushing skills are unbelieveable, the guy is a physical monster and with elite coaching, he'd be an elite player for a decade or more.

I wouldn't touch Peyton Manning with a 10 foot pole. RGIII needs to change his game to survive in this league, Russell Wilson averaged only 200 yards a game, Keapernick is a Newton clone (with less experience) and Rodgers is in the prime of his career and not likely to play at high level for another decade (although it's certainly possible).

Luck is the only guy I'd consider and even he had better skill position players than Newton has had in Carolina.

You thought Matt Cassel was Trent Green 2.0.

You have no legs to stand on, Captain Hollywood.

You're a ****ing idiot.

That was conjecture after a long exposition. I said something to the affect that if MAYBE he had stellar offensive line protection (like Trent Green), he could MAYBE be Trent Green 2.0.

Emphasis on MAYBE, jackass. Maybe means uncertainly, Dumb****.

Doesn't matter. It was dumb.

And you're wrong about Cam, too.

And I'll call your dumb homer ass out on it.

It's a war, Dane.

Correction, he only threw 19 TD passes last year and 21 the year before. He's also only had 62 total TDs, not 66.

You can't talk about what a great QB Cam is and try to prop up your opinion using his total TD stats when almost a third of his TDs are rushing. He's a phenomenal athlete, but he's far from a polished QB.

You're right, I should have said nearly, like I normally do.

3,869 to be exact.
