Draft picks are currency. Do you honestly think they'd spend two valuable picks on a guy they aren't committed to?
Not to mention, it likely leaves us without the ammunition to move up for a QB next year in the event they want one. |

Just to clarify, I think Smith will play well, and probably will get an extension. |

Two years is a goddamn eternity. That's two years of Charles, Flowers, Bowe, Hali and DJ we're wasting. That's two years we're not developing a potential franchise QB.

That's you saying that, without knowing what Reids thoughts, and plans are for Bray.....And yes, Bray has the physical talent to be a franchise qb.

He's an unusual circumstance in that they have him locked for 2 years. Is there really any reason to extend him now? What do you think the odds are that they will next year?
As far as other types of committment go, he was named the starter immediately, he's carrying himself in interviews as the unquestioned starter, and they're making him one of the faces of the franchise. I'd say it's pretty clear that they aren't treating him like a short-term fix. |

I've interpreted (perhaps wrongly so?) a few people as saying the fact that he wasn't given an extension is a sign that they're having a wait and see approach with him, and I just don't believe that's the case. He's their guy moving forward, I don't think there's any question about that. |

This. The window is closing on good players who have soldiered through this shit-house of a franchise. They deserve better. ****, the FANS deserve better.

Can't be 2 early 2cd round picks. If we suck that bad it will be a 3rd rounder.
