Umm. Have you watched the NFL recently? 9 and 10 win teams win
Super bowls. All you need to do is hang around .500 until midseason, then turn it on. The NFL has been devaluing its regular season for years. Its still fun to watch, but the early games are meaningless more and more.

Again, I couldn't disagree more. There are only six division games in football. If you take the early games lightly and any of them are division games you can certainly dig yourself a hole you can't get out of. If you're 4-4 at the halfway point, you are going to have to play at least 5-3 ball the second half to have any shot at the playoffs. The notion that teams can just "turn it on" is ludicrous.
