No argument. I, like you, grew up seeing Elway make that play.

Yeah, and I understand that. While both great qbs, there are few qbs who can get away with that.

Favre in his younger days, Kaepernick and Elway to name a few.

Peyton even at his best, shouldn't make that throw. Its just not smart, and unneeded. Okay, im done lol.

I'm curious to see how Kaep does this year. You don't need to be done, you're talking good football.

He is going to have to be everything 49er fans think he already is.

Their schedule is ABSOLUTELY brutal. I told some people that I expected Alex Smith to win more games. They laughed at me until I showed the differences in schedules.

Not that Alex Smith is a better qb, but my god. They could legitimately, start 0-2

A lot harder to pull tricks with a season of scouting films on you. Imho this season is his true test.

I agree. We will see. Losing Crabtree is going to hurt. They still cant find a number two receiver.

There's no doubt and the cool thing is we forget the times he didn't make that play... that game was an odd time for me. I was watching it with a buddy, another long-time fan. Before the game, we were both talking about how surreal it was to be watching that game with an all-time great QB leading the way.

Then the dramatics of the game had us both just mentally in a place neither of us had been with that team and the expecations since the late 90s.

We're both believing again and then... BAM ... Peyton channels his inner Cutler and we're like, WTF? Huh? I think I stared silently into the TV for about half an hour after the game.

The 10 points taken off the board in 97 against the Vaseline boys stung too en route to losing 14-10, complete with a letter of apology from the league for the **** job......."THIS ONE'S FOR JOOOOOOOOOOHN!!!!" **** THE DONKEYS!!!!!!

Yeah, that was some pretty grotesque cheating by the Donks - making it even more ironic when they lied to the league about the Chargers using Stickum last year because they were losing and needed a distraction/excuse.

Wow, that's not what happened at all. The Chargers were using a grip-enhancing towel, which was banned as a result of the investigation, and the Chargers were fined $20,000 for trying to hide the towels when the official asked to see them.

Those "Gorilla Gold" towels were already being privately investigated by the league before the incident and had been openly used by every team for over a decade prior (including your Donks). The NFL also came out and said that the Chargers didn't break any rules by using them.

Face it - the Donks were losing, they apparently felt they needed a distraction, and they lied and exaggerated in order to create one. Considering how suck-awful the Chargers were that year, it just makes the Donks look pathetic that they couldn't beat us straight-up.
