Personally in my uneducated noob opinion i think we get a hard nosed gruden style coach im not saying gruden because he wants a bigger media market supposedly. But Chunts hiding behind his big desk racking his brain, thinkin shit i never thought SOC could pull shit together like this. I need a guy with balls of steel that wont take shit off anyone and cant be backed in a corner, i need a coach who is the stallion of a man i'll never be! So we get a thats "hardass" HC who picks his own staff, GM and talent evaluators. Chunts not a foozeball guy so hes going to double down on someone who is.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't be ecstatic to see him as our head coach...he at least seems like he knows how to manage a football game and a football team...I'm not sure if Romeo Crennel has a single pro to add to his long, long list of cons.

Eli wins Super Bowls when his defense plays well. So did Brees, Rothlisberger, Rodgers and Brady. In seasons where their defenses have NOT played well, they've all gone home with no rings.

The only one on that list that's won a SB with a crap defense is Peyton, and as good as he is, he's won ONE Super bowl.

Not saying the QB isn't the most important chess piece, but you still can't win without a defense at the least, and a running game sure is helpful.

You're talking about superbowls...I'm just hoping we can make the playoffs, and possibly win a game in the process.

Manning's SB win is credited to Indy's D. They suddenly played great into the post-season. Peyton did nothing special, and in fact tried to give it away vs the Chiefs. Remember that?

Of the elite's, he's the last QB I want in the play offs.

The elite QBs don't have to have their defenses play good. Just good enough actually. Teams with FQBs can afford to have a less than stellar defense and other weaknesses that teams with game managers can't afford to have. The room for error is bigger with the FQBs.

Who won the NFC title game last year? The team with the game manager and great defense or the team with the FQB and less than stellar defense? Every year the two teams that are gonna be fighting for the Lombardi are gonna have FQBs. It won't change this year. I guarantee you Schaub nor Smith won't be in the Super Bowl unless Schaub starts playing at an elite level. Smith is worthless.
