Surely to god we wouldn't lock up Albert then draft a RT at 1?

Will they use Winston's money to sign Albert to an extension and make some cap room?

Just seems pointless to tag Albert at LT if their plan is to draft an LT and play him at RT?? If you want a franchise LT at number 1, than let Albert go and have Winston stay at RT. It would be cheaper as well

The 3.5 Winston cap savings basically means cutting Cassel and trading for Smith carries no additional cap increase for the Chiefs.
They should have between 10-13 million million at the start of FA.

+2.8
7.4 What do we save when we cut Cassel? If somebody trades a bag of chips for him, how much is saved then? Studs baker should be gone, too...that's another 2m. Cassels base was gonna be 7.5 and his whole cap hit was gonna be 9.8. |

I'm not sold on the Winston 3.5m saving the numbers don't add up. Cassel saves 5.6m if cut if traded we save 9.8m, Andy 2m |

5.875. Alex Smith will carry a 8.5 million dollar cap figure. I think Smith's already been figured into those numbers though.

Yes, the numbers add up. They lumped his workout bonuses in with his signing bonus, which was only 4 million.

If the 3.5 is legit, that would put us at 15 under if they cut Cassel and Andy.
Right? If its not right, that leaves us at around 12 under. |

Maybe with that we end up getting Albert longterm and increase that 15 number?
