Translation: if it's not going to be Geno Smith, I'm not interested.

But I have a hard time believing they are hiring the line coach before the DC. Castillo is absolutely going to be the OLine caoch. Andy feels he owes it to him after how he was let go in Phi.

I'm going to trust his QB evaluation. I may disagree about it, but I'll give him some time to prove me wrong. This is just my speculation, but if he doesn't like any of them, may go with Vick on a 2 year deal and take someone next year.

Uh. No to Vick. I don't see that happening again.

What's the downside for a 1-2 year deal?
Team has a good line, team absolutely needs to build morale and win, and if you draft someone you have options if he's not ready. I'm 100% pro drafting a QB, but there's going to need to be a vet option brought in here.

Best thing he had going for him, was his athleticism and ability to allude pressure. Now he's broken down and isn't the athlete, and he is just downright awful from the pocket. I'd much rather bring in Hasselback or that type of guy. |

I got the feeling from Reid's statement that he was tempering the fan base because at this point in time, HE doesn't know if there's a Franchise QB in the THIS draft and he doesn't want everyone to be disappointed if he chooses another position or trades out. Like you, I'll trust his QB evaluation. |

Hasselbeck is just too old and too worn out.

His line couldn't hold a pocket for him to save his life last year. That's not the case here. The guy isn't running a 4.3 anymore, but he's still plenty elusive. Where are you getting Hasselbeck from? He's got a year left in Tennessee. Who else qualifies as a "Hasselbeck" type of guy?
