Explain to me why Riley signed Payton, Walker, and Williams. That's gonna get it done in the East, but not against the West. They need better shooters, and athletes (I guess I could've saved some space and just typed "better players").

I'll say because he probably assumed he had to get as much help as he could right now because Shaq's days are obviously numbered.

They have a good nucleus of young players for the future

Kapono
Hasiem
Wade
Simien

with a mix of mid range 7,8 year vets

and then the really experienced vets like Shaq, Mourning and Payton

I understand your point I was talking about they have good fondation for the future.

Well considering Kapono and Simien never see the floor.....and I think Kapono has been in the league 4-5 years. Might aswell add Dorrel Wright to that too although he never plays either.

Couldn't agree more. Of course, I've liked both teams since the late 80's.

This is Kapono's 3rd year. You can also add Earl Barron to the list of young players who don't play.

Shaq isn't washed up or close to it. He just didn't get fed the ball -- not NEAR enough last night.

I would be surprised more if Mavericks won game 3 than if the Heat dominated the game and won by double-digits. The only problem with that is that it assumes Riley will be smart enough to get the ball into Shaq at LEAST 12 times.

Heat won't win a game if Shaq averages 5 fga per game.

The Mavs are putting good pressure on Shaq and those around Shaq are failing to show why they are playing at the NBA level.

Dallas is just too deep, young and more motivated than Miami appears to be. Miami has to win 4 of 5 to take the title and after the first 2 games, I just don't see it happening.

Anything could happen if Miami can find a way to win the next 2, but ... I just don't see it. I think Dallas steals game 3 by 4 points in a close game.

I said Mavs in 6, but it may be only 5.

The playoffs are 2-2-1-1-1. The Finals, however, are 2-3-2. Not sure why they do that. Another intersting fact is that it wasn't that many years ago that they used to play best of 5 games in the first round of the playoffs.

I think the Heat will play much better at home. They will probably win at least one, maybe two of their games in Miami. However, Dallas can play well on the road and I definitely think they'll win at least one down in South Beach. It's possilbe that Dallas could end up celebrating a title in Miami.

I think Miami will win at least 2 at home.

But that wont be enough to overcome the deficit

Heat playing very well but the refs doing their best to keep Dallas in it. A lot of BS calls thus far. Disappointing..
