If the Chiefs do end up with the # 1 pick..

I hope they take Rey Maualuga, Middle Linebacker, USC.

The Chiefs defense has a lot of young talented players but they do not have an emotional leader on the field.

currently listed as 6'2" 250+ lbs

I don't know yet. It depends on when we draft in the first. But I like to see our first rounder come from this list, depending on value matching:

In no particular order, Bradford, Oher, Maualuga, Monroe or even Stafford. I have liked DE Orapko too, but I don't know yet if he is 1st round material. There maybe a couple of others I might be omiting right this minute.

If I want an accurate passer that doesn't make mistakes I'll sign a free agent instead of drafting Bradford in the first. If I want a young talented QB, I'll take Stafford in the first round.

If the Chiefs have the #1 pick, they should be looking into Stafford or Oher. Everybody else is irrevelent.

Oh, I look at poise, footwork, release, accuracy, quick decision making, and then height and weight and arm strength. In the former category, IMO Bradford has been more impressive.

It's beyond easy to have good poise, footwork, accuracy, and quick decision making when you

A) Play in the shotgun
B) Have no pressure on you
C) Have receivers who are basically uncovered
D) Don't throw the ball more than 12 yards in the air on 80% of your throws.

Let's say you take Stafford. If Daniel is there in the second round, and you hve two second round picks due to a trade, would you go after him, too? The one thing I like about Daniel, other than a fairly accurate arm, is his durability. He seems to be Timex.

If I had two sevenths, I might spend the latter one on Daniel.

I literally think you could take alot of people off the street that could make alot of the throws Bradford does. It's alot of very very easy throws that don't translate at all to the next level.

Which is not to say that he's no better than a guy off the street, but given what he's shown so far it's more Ty Detmer than Dan Marino.

Don't worry, the Colt McCoy hype will surpass Bradford shortly, just aslong as it's someone in the Big 12, even though in my view McCoy is loaded with concerns.

He should have all of the concerns that Bradford does, along with a Croyle-esque injury report.
