***Official BORDER WAR Smack Thread***

Now that we got ISU out of the way, Mizzou fans can finally focus on hosting our hated rivals to the west.

I know it's early, but it's been years since us Mizzou fans can actually look forward to this game, let alone basketball at this point in the season.

We're about 48 hours away......

Ive said this many times before, I think MU has a better football team than KU, in all of the border war smack thats been across this board, I've remained consistant in my stance on that. However that immediately got turned into "I root for MU football, and KU bball" which isn't the case. I just thought MU had a better football team just by watching both play. I just call it as I see it, rivalry put aside.

Now its different for bball because I dont think I can ever recall a MU team being a better team than KU, at least while I've been alive. That includes MU's 1994 team.
lies .... can someone post that message from CoMo about how he has like MUron football since he was a kid or whatever plox

I don't have a rooting interest... but I didn't realize Mizzou went back to being a basketball school again after their epic Cotton Bowl/Alamo Bowl football dynasty.

Interesting eh?

Even the thread starter claimed that basketball was a secondary, unimportant sport in the hay-day of MU football...

They were always a good team under Kelvin Sampson. Even made the Final Four in 2002. Yeah, they have been down the last 2-3 years since his departure. But they seem to be back up there now. Blake Griffin is a stud, for sure.

I grew up watching MU football because they were always on TV. Never was a fan though. Didn't play football when I was younger I played bball, and KU was the team I followed. Never had a favorite college fball team, still don't. Hell I didn't even go to an MU football game til I started going to college. If you call that being a fan, then whatever helps you sleep at night.

I don't really care who wins this game. If MU loses, it puts K-State within 1 game of them in the standings, and it will be funny seeing tigerboard meltdown. If KU loses, it will be funny watching the meltdown on Chiefsplanet about the refs. Either way i'm covered.

I'm sure there will be plenty of bitching regarding the refs, no matter who wins... the loser can complain that "the refs sucked" and the winner can complain "the refs sucked, not that it had anything to do with the outcome of the game".

It'll be fun.

I think either way, the KU fans will bitch more about the refs, on this board. It could be to the proportion of KU fans to MU fans, or perhaps just the ones you have here bitch about the refs, a lot.

I do notice they bitch a lot about the refs in Chiefs games so maybe that is it.
