Press conference

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: We feel very fortunate that Alex will be a member of the Chiefs franchise for years to come.

@ArrowheadAddict: Dorsey: Since the beginning of this process, we've always had our eye on Alex.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I'm ready for this.

@ArrowheadAddict: Smith: I can't say how excited I am for it. Thankful for the opportunity.

I Agree with this tweet:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Dorsey said the reason they signed Alex is because quote "He's shown he can play football at a very high level." WHEN????? #Chiefs

THE BEST ONE OF THEM ALL:

@Lance_THESPOKEN: Yes, Andy Reid just said they're gonna "work on getting Alex Smith in the Hall of Fame." Take it as you will, I didn't make it up. #Chiefs

They're already sold on Smith, way to keep your options open dick suckers:

@APdaveskretta: Andy Reid: "I'm going to tell you every position we try to create competition ... but I'll tell you, Alex is the starting QB" #Chiefs

Let me know when he's gone, I'm done with this shit organization.

@DannyParkins: Talked to #Chiefs GM John Dorsey away from the media and he says it's absolutely fair to say they view Alex Smith as longterm answer at QB.

Ried proved that he can coach up QBs. This, and Alexs play when coached properly make this move interesting. Simple.

I wanted Geno as the next guy but he's as uncertain at this point as Alex.

We gave up too much for him. That sucks.

His ability to develop a franchise QB in KC is the only thing that made him attractive.

Now, we have Alex Smith.

At this point, **** Andy Reid.

Whooooosh! Look up, because the point is somewhere way up there.
In another thread, people were accusing someone of racism because he compared Geno Smith to Akili Smith. Since DTLB58 used a DaMarcus Russell comparison, I decided to warn him before the racism accusations started up again. Apparently it went over *your* head.

No, Reid showed that he could be successful with the 2nd overall pick.

Do a search of my posts. There's one that shows how piss-poor the QB play has been under Reid when you take McNabb out of the equation.

Let me guess - you said the exact same thing when people here bashed the trade for Cassel? "You should get a job in the NFL if you think you know more than the Executive of the Year"

Well, we've seen this movie before and know how it ends. Some of us wanted a glimmer of hope at QB but instead we get ASs.

Nope. We're talking about differences between the way this regime is starting out and the way Pioli started out in 2009. None of those guys were re-signed in that first year.

There's a difference between big name guys and top tier guys. No matter what tier these guys are coming from, they aren't bargains. You don't find bargains on day 1 of free agency. That's why ***** didn't aggressively pursue free agents on day 1. He waited until he could pick over the crumbs later in the process. That's the difference I pointed out. A pretty big difference, IMO.

No, I didn't leave out any detail. You asked for differences and I gave them to you. In your effort to refute so you can maintain your self-delusion about how similar the two regimes have been, you disingenuously ignored the actual difference I pointed out.
Yeah, you did leave out details. No need to play this game, so save it for someone else.

"Hey, at least it he traded for a QB from ANOTHER team. I mean, he still traded a high 2nd round pick for an unproven Back up QB Castoff....BUT IT'S FROM ANOTHER TEAM! SO DIFFERENT"

And no shit he didn't resign them in 2009. FFS, their contracts weren't up. Very, very weak arguments you have here.

Yeah, it was Smith that made Singletary a bad coach.

How do you get regime killer? The past two years with Smith starting in 2011, and I guess you could say they were set for a big fall last year before Smith went down, but it sure seemed like they were rolling.

I don't think we can say the Chiefs made a mistake by failing to draft an above average QB, unless Alex Smith ends up not being above average, and even then it will be a minor mistake. If Geno Smith turns into a franchise QB, then I think it's a mistake even if Alex Smith rises to the same level just because of the age difference.

Wait! Haven't we seen this before?

Go into the season with a close-minded attitude. Shoe horn "your guy" into the starting position because the ego demands it. Who the hell negociated that Smith deal?

How do i get Regime Killer?

How many coaches and GM's were fired during his tenure?

This is simple shit. Bad QB's get Coaches fired. Good QB's get coaches paid.

How many OC's did Matt Cassel burn through? How about Alex Smith?
