That was after Jabbar was gone. The great Celtics teams were gone after the Bird/McHale injuries. The great Lakers teams were gone after Jabbar left, although they had one more year with great win totals.

* I guess you could argue the 2006 Spurs. I wouldn't, for a couple of reasons, with Dallas having truly been that year's great team being one reason, but I could understand people arguing it having happened once.

Actually, I was saying the same thing then that I say now. Greatness is not about stats. It's about how you apply your talents to winning. To bring it into the football realm, it's why a guy like Marino's not looked at as a top 10 QB, for example.

Reality is that the team won 47 last year with Wade and Beasley. Reality is that with wade and Bosh and a few other talented peaces, they'd have won 50-60 this year. LeBron is nice, but there is really less than a 5 win difference with him on the team and without him. ..if that.

Because Wade was already there, and Bosh is just the third wheel.

LeBron is supposed to be the centepiece free agent acquisition that vaults the Heat to new heights.
