I get that. But this is the NFL. Their considerations for how to handle anything, much less a near-death incident during the live presentation of MNF, are magnitudes of difference in scale than some faceless kid in the middle of nowhere. That sounds harsh, but that's pretty much how the NFL would view it. Their POV. The biggest difference being that if a player dies on MNF, it's instantaneously a national event. It's one of the most watched events in the country. And it happens in real time.

By the time you first found out about that kid in NE or wherever, the kid had been dead three days. And as humans we automatically drop that information into the "bad news from recent past" file, and whatever emotional response you could have would be toned down by that many days. We're human, it happens.

I think I understand what you are trying to say....but for the most part CPR hasn't changed in a while 30 compressions 2 breaths - repeat - so while he wasn't technically breathing his brain/body was still getting a fresh supply of blood/oxygen. It's not like they just keep compressing for 9 minutes without giving breaths.

Dude. Stop. You don’t administer CPR because someone “isn’t breathing”. You start CPR because someone is pulseless.

I’m sure they did slap an AED on him as soon as possible.

Probably logistics. How many appropriate hotels would just happen to have 100+ rooms available tonight? Especially with the game being there?

Logistically they were already scheduled to fly home and it’s not like a flight from Cinci to Buffalo is really going to take long. I’m sure they just want to be home with their families tonight.

I would lean the opposite at this point…with players staying to support the family I would think this game will not continue…just too many moving pieces and players thinking about everything else but football (rightfully so…supporting the family, etc). It will be hard for these two teams to play this weekend at this point too unless there is a great recovery.
