Now profanity when we get Matheny'd........sure but that totally understandable.
I bet he is back for the playoffs.

He's wound pretty tight about most things around here, especially when it strays even nominally political. The problem with the cartoon was that it was just really really unfunny, IMO, but as some people are wont to do, he found a reason to get offended and left.

He also has a couple of young daughters so he probably found better use of his time during summer months. Isn't he a teacher or something? Eh, in either event, I suspect he'll be around when the weather turns.
Eh, not really.

1) Sometimes the stupidity of this place is too much for me to handle. And this place is overrun with stupidity right now. About a month ago Chris Conley was Odell Beckham on here and Eric Kush was Dermonti Dawson.

2) Regarding the thread in question: That particular thread was idiotic because there were about ten dumbasses who just wanted to say ****er but danced all around it with all kinds of code words and other related horseshit.

It has nothing to do with being asshurt. I just get tired of people not having the sand to say what they really mean, and then acting like their act isn't totally transparent.

3) I have not caught a Cardinal game from start to finish in almost a month. I'm just crazy busy right now. I just started my first year of Pharmacy school and I have Biochem, Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharm. Physiology along with four other "light" classes, tons of professional requirements and assorted to hoops to jump through.

Today I woke up at 6:30. I showered and went to class. I was in class until one. I took a shit, wrote a response for another class, then got a Flu shot, a TB test, and had blood drawn for a series of titers. I drove from there to pick my girls up at school, took both of them for one's physical therapy. I then picked up dinner and came home. I will give them a bath in about an hour and lay them down. From there I'll read and take notes for BioChem for probably two hours and Physiology for another hour. Then, I have class all day tomorrow with a few short breaks so that I can study. I'll get out of class and go to another PT appointment tomorrow, and then use the weekend to try and study for the two tests I have next week, keep up on my reading, and watch the girls/keep them entertained alone because my wife works weekend nights.

It's just a nightmare schedule right now and I don't have the time to really participate in threads and/or watch much of any baseball, save for an inning if I want a 15-20 minute break.

And this site has always been especially intolerable during preseason anyway.

It's a vile brew.

Brandon Moss probably still sucks, but that's better than the 'he definitely sucks' from a week or so ago.

That damn ball has a flat spot on it. I'd have liked to have been at the ballpark just to hear the sound it made.

You won't see too many people not named Mike Stanton hit a ball that hard. It was obliterated.

That's the difference between Lyons and Marco right now.

Lyons just threw an 0-1 curve that he could get inside to the RH Espinoza and change his plane. Espinoza had to have that in the back of his mind (the possibility of that pitch starting out and breaking in) when Lyons threw the changeup away to make him look like a bitch.

Marco's curve is nowhere near that caliber. His fastball might be a mph better but his change is a couple mphs faster as well. Even if you concede that the fastball/changeup combo for the two is comparable (I actually like Lyons better right now), Lyons has a far more advanced breaking pitch. He's a true 3-pitch pitcher, even if his 3 pitches are all probably maxed out right now.

Tyler Lyons is just a better pitcher right now and I still don't see why I should expect Marco to be substantially better at ANY point in his career. And I like what I saw from Cooney better than both of them.

I really like pham. I don't know what he is defensively from a range standpoint, but I like the way he plays.

If only Bourjos and pham could combine, with Jay's batting profile, we'd be good in center.
