The MIA Heat Show Thread

LA will be dethroned. The LAC Lake Show will be dead. So it's time to create a thread to follow the new dynasty.

Going on tour starting this October.

Like I said, if you actually watched Cleveland play, they flat out gave up after they lost to Miami. The past month, they've been playing very competitive basketball. Their team is actually built extremely well to support a superstar, unlike Miami, which is built around superstars who have no idea how to complement each other. That's why the 2010 Cavs are a shitload better than the 2011 Heat.
We have had this discussion several times and you believed the Cavs had enough around Lebron to win. If that was true they don't lose 26 in a row the majority by double digits.

They are a horrible team and Lebron knew that so he left.

And I watch the Cavs played a lot. They play hard but just don't have enough talent to compete.

The Cavs won 66 games two years ago. That is tough. LeBron was far and away the key but you can't put a couple good players with a bunch of scrubs and win 66 games. Heck the Heat have three very good players they will be doing well to get to 55 wins at this point.

Another huge win for the Heat tonight, as they beat the Trailblazers 105-96. LeBron showed, once again, why he's right there with Jordan, Bird, Russell, Magic and the other true elites, as he took his entire team on his shoulders and willed it to victory after Crygate.

Wait. What?

Oh. Nevermind.

Again... when your team is built around a superstar, your team is going to take a big-time hit when you lose that superstar. That doesn't mean that any of the top 10-15 NBA players in the league, maybe even more, couldn't take that same team to a competitive season.

Lebron was replaced with ZERO (because Lebron was a dick and waited until the last minute of free agency to break the news). And again, they lost key players in Shaq, Z, and Delonte West. Not gamebreakers, but all of them were replaced with ZERO.

That doesn't mean the team wasn't very well built to play around a superstar. And again, if you watched the Cavs the first 10 games and since February, and you compare that to the Cavs that went 1-39 for a stretch... those teams are night and day.

The Cavs are not a good team this year. But they sucked for a stretch because when they lost to Miami, they flat out gave up and got lazy. Since February, they're about .500 and keeping almost every loss within 10 points.

They also lost Mo Williams for a time and Anderson Varajao for periods at a time. Thats going to hurt as well. It wasnt that they just lost Lebron. They lost alot of players.

I've been trying to be polite, but you're just ****ing reeruned. Malone is one of the greats. It was his job to CARRY his team. Horry was a secondary player, who's job was to SUPPORT the great players. You judge the great ones on how they were able to use their talents to become winners. Montana is considered to be better than Marino because he's got 4 rings and won in the playoffs, not because he threw for more yards.

JFC, get a clue.

There's no way that you're a Kobe fan. This statement of yours is too idiotic for a Kobe fan to make.

Ok, so you just don't know what the hell you're talking about. You probably shouldn't have told Milkman that he's out of his element, because you're absolutely clueless. The 2005-2006 Miami Heat were a great team? GTFO.

Dominance doesn't mean anything if that's all you've got, because part of dominance is winning. Wilt Chamberlain was the most dominant individual player ever to lace them up. Russell's the guy with the rings, and was the better player. Marino dominated the passing records in the NFL. Zero titles.

Your definition of "bash" is flawed, much like the rest of your arguments. Jordan was a great player. The question is where he ranks in the pantheon. That was the case before he won any titles, too.

If you consider building a team around a superstar = Lebron + a bunch of scrubs and an old Shaq

There was a reason why Lebron left and it was because he knew the team wasn't built to win a championship

The Heat will still probably win it all. Bashing them right now is pretty dumb.

If they win, the season's struggles will make it all the sweeter. Their problem is matchups. They are very weak at point and center, and teams like Orlando, Boston and Chicago can exploit that.

It's one of the reasons Celtics fans still want to know what the hell Ainge was thinking when he traded Perkins.

Based on what? You need a bench to win in the playoffs.

They traded Perkins for better offense. Kristic and Green gave them that
