Okay, so he can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

I still lay the blame squarely at Lucas' feet. He approved the script, casting, everything. It starts and stops all with him.

Yes, he was awful in that. I still put that on directing and writing. He had shitty lines and he delivered them very shitty.

All of the Star Wars movies have dopey lines. The difference is that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Mark Hamill made them believable.

Same goes for Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor and even Hugh Quarshie as Captain Panaka. There was a seriousness and weight in their acting and characterizations, while Samuel L. Jackson was just awful, like it was a first time acting gig.

He was a fish out of water and completely miscast.

It's all Obi-Wan's fault. He's jealous. He's holding me back!

Yep, Darth Vader just had a temper tantrum in front of his secret girlfriend.

If those lines had been delivered by a competent actor, no one would have even noticed.

Matt Lanter was so much more believable than Hayden Christensen, even as a voice actor.

It was disappointing to me that such esteemed actors as Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugh Quarshie couldn't make anything out of the lines provided to them.

(although, I'm not sure if Jackson was miscast. I'd read Jackson asked to be a part of the films and Lucas seemed to just split the boring dialogue to fit him in and add another demographic to his toy sales)

Disney would be smart to bury the prequels and attempt to undo the damage that's been done.

JJ gets it. - This movie will make us forget the the wrongs of the prequels.

It would behoove Disney to avoid having any standalone movies based on characters that played a prevalent role in the prequels. This means no Qui Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, etc, etc...

The prequels were shit and it's time for people to let go of any hope that these characters can be brought back from the ass rape Lucas & Co. inflicted on them.

They're damaged goods. As sad as it may be for these characters, there is no way to undo what has been done to them. All baselines are flawed.

You personal bias is showing.

I know a lot of OT SW fans who love Ewan's performance as Obi-Wan, and would love to see an Obi-Wan spinoff.

As I've said. I have no bias against Ewan. We should all agree the prequels should be buried. You just said so yourself.

Why would you want a remake?

You've got an entire universe and tons of other compelling stories to explore.

No matter how much they improve it it's still the same damn story.
