Scott ***** hired by NFL Network
Scott Pioli hired BY NFL Network.
http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/2/1...in-nfl-network Did not find it posted. Work as draft analyst... Former general managers Scott ***** and Mike Tannenbaum will join the NFL Network for their coverage leading up to the NFL Draft. The NFL Network has added two recent general managers to their coverage team for the 2013 NFL Draft as Scott ***** and Mike Tannenbaum will provide analysis in the weeks leading up to the draft. ***** served as the general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009-2012 and Tannenbaum as the GM of the Jets from 2006-2012; both men were fired following disappointing 2012 seasons. Despite their recent failings, both ***** and Tannenbaum have a long history evaluating talent in the NFL. ***** served in the Patriots player personnel department for nine years before taking the job in Kansas City and has worked in NFL front offices since 1992. He has won the NFL Executive of the Year Award from numerous organizations, including most recently in 2010 from both Pro Football Weekly and Sports Illustrated. Tannenbaum had served in the Jets front office since 1997, working his way up to general manager. Both the Chiefs and Jets experienced significant problems at the quarterback position in 2012, problems many fans blame on the general managers and that contributed to the two men losing their jobs. |

Acute does not equal chronic. JC had a fairly significant knee injury. He doesn't have knee "issues". |

I still think Albert wasn't all that hurt. I think he decided to sit out a few games so the team could see how shitty they were without him. And they were shitty.

Dunno about that, but IIRC he was active a few games and dressed but didn't play. Wouldn't think he was hurt that bad if they did that.

took DJax 2 seasons to get paid by cheapskate Reid and Dorsey is from the Packers who are notoriously cheap for everyone but QB.
they play hardball like to have young guys on rookie contracts, push and pull when you have to pay guys that are 27,28 on their big money 2nd prime years contract |

He's probably just attempting to lower his price.

I think that's awfully far-fetched. As egomaniacal and self-concerned some NFL players can be, I think the vast majority genuinely want to play in every game and perform at their best. Shit, people do all sorts of crazy and harmful stuff to their bodies just to stay on the field. I just can't see Albert sitting out to prove a point. And if he did that, then **** him, we should let him walk. You're a paid professional, and that means you show up and bust your ass regardless. You don't decide not to play a couple games to teach someone a lesson. That would be bushleague.

I think it was one of those "could have played if it was a playoff game" deals.

That makes a little more sense. No sense risking serious injury over a meaningless victory.

It's pretty damned obvious given Peters, Tra Thomas, and Jon Runyan that they don't just toss out tackles after their first contracts, nor do they really play hardball at all. What would make you think they would cut bait with Albert? It doesn't square with any of their past moves.
