Is Albert Wilson... good now!?!?

Tonight's big catch was huge and hugely impressive, but Albert Wilson has been doing little things right all season. This is surprising, considering he has been, uh, not very good at football for most of his career to this point.

He's clearly not as good as the Holy Trinity, and he's probably still the 3rd best WR behind Conley, but... is Albert friggin' Wilson actually good now!?!?

And look at the receiving stats from the past two games (below) and then our depth chart.

I was going to post a thread about this last week and how we need WRs. I thin the long plays to Hill have skewed our receiving stats. Absolutely nothing to Robinson (listed as the #1 opposite from Hill) absolutely nothing from him. and Chesson, yeah he's a #3 but a ghost. Kelce is basically a WR.

Who is O Charles? maybe he passes up Incompletrius Harris soon. When he dropped that one in the Endzone yesterday Was so pissed. Wa like 'of COURSE!"

He and Wilson both made cliche bad drops for themselves yesterday.

Trust me, I think the receiving game is much much better than it has been in ten years. Those long plays to hill, who do we have who has done that since? Who? Not Bowe. Dante Hall? But one or two more solid WRs or at least a legit #2 and we've really got something.
If we had a stacked defense, I'd agree. But we need to use draft and FA to upgrade the talent on defense. The draft capital or money for a #2 receiver could be used to help fix our defense

Wilson is a bum! Pure and simple. He is not good and dropped a great pass for a TD.

Well that's already happened, sadly. That's how he got in this hole in the first place. If he drops a play like that again in a playoff game we lose you bet he will get heat for it. Deservedly so.

He can't catch a cold over his shoulder.

Just stop trying it.

He has to face the ball to catch it.

Albert Wilson's catch against the Redskins was over the shoulder.

So was his TD against the Raiders on a pass that should have been picked.

He's a big reason this team is in the playoffs instead of missing it.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe he is not useless on those routes. But the biggest number of his drops are that type of route. If I remember, I believe he bobbled his catch in the Redskins game.

Don't get me wrong. I like Albert Wilson & think he is very valuable to this team. I just think go routes are not his forte.

Still don't think he tracks the ball well. Not very original of me, I know. But I think we see it borne out more often than not on those throws.

I agree, he proved today that his bread and butter is making plays from the slot. Has the quickness and toughness to get open in the middle of the field and make people miss in the flat. Getting open outside the numbers on deep outs, backshoulder throws.. Conely and Hill are better equiped. He does seem to have the speed to occasionally hit one on the post or on the nine but as we've seen before, doesn't exactly have the hands or ball skills to attack and secure the ball in the air

Bert only looks different to people who saw him alligator arm a few passes and labeled him practice squad material. Early on he seemed to have trouble tracking the ball over his shoulder and that's what a lot of people saw. Andy utilized him more efficiently as a slot/underneath guy and what we see now is simply him being put in the best possible position for his skill set. I seriously believe if he had Brady throwing him the ball he'd be a Welker or Edelman type guy... I think he just played himself into a solid contract.

He has gotten a lot better in space. Could do a lot worse as a depth WR. Drops seem to have gotten better although the one against Miami can't happen in the playoffs. After his drop in the playoff game last year I was ready to kill him and rightfully so. He has bounced back very well.

He needs to keep that white shirt on as well.
