absolutely!!!

Hes the 1st American who has a legitimate shot against carlsen or anyone else who has a chance at it...

I mean...Nakamura I guess had a 'chance' but never really quite made it against carlsen...

but wesley so is young. (3 yrs younger than Magnus)..and still rising...I might be naive but I think Wesley will become champ...

They are only about 1 win apart (each win can be worth about 16 points)

so wesley so is 2800+ and so is Carlsen..I think carlsen is 2822 and so is like 2810

https://ratings.fide.com/top.phtml?list=men <---list of top chess players by rating level
^current ratings

(* also Caruana is a bad ass...but IMO , Wesley So will be next world champ)

Its really cool that USA has 2 of top 5 players in world now...exciting times

I must admit in all honesty

I do not think Wesley So has ever beaten Carlsen in a tournament game ....but from my brief search i think they played 10 times and got 7 draws (clasical chess, non exhibition, full length game...non blitz etc)

but carlsen won 3 times....wesley won zero

But I do think the time is coming...

Anyone playing any chess lately?

what sites do you use these days?

I've been playing against higher and higher levels on 3D chess on my tablet. Chess puzzles and trainers are fun but I've found that chess videos on YouTube on the different topics like openings and end game strategy have been most helpful.

Carlsen hasn't been playing well this year. I think he can be beaten.

I've been really impressed with Kramnik and Aronian lately. Ho Yi Fan will be very good in a few years, I think.
