If I do take a deep breath, walk away, and say **** it, my ass will be taking in the country scenery somewhere, (Italy? That would be nice), with a wine glass in my hand. I shit you not. I need a damn vacation... BADLY! No phone, no boss, no puppy crapping all over the place, no shooting up the beetus cat w/ insulin, (my cat has teh beetus), no idiot teachers, no dumb bastards cutting me off, (how can these assholes not see a big Jeep?!), no bill collectors, no ****sticks calling during dinner to ask me to complete a phone survey or donate my hard-earned money, and, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S HOLY, no dishes/laundry/house to clean!! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! /vent Whoa. I kind of feel better. |

Being able to restrain yourself and enjoy life, in spite of all that, is what happiness is truly about. It'll all pass soon enough. You and Gonzo will soon be sitting in Montana in 2040, while Mini Gonzo and Mini Lumpy are killing animals and cooking them while you're in a pup tent trying to find each other's misplaced erogenous zones. It's only a matter of time before you're without worry. Well, until the first grandchild arrives. |

"Mini Lumpy"?! Eh, that will never happen. We're done having kids. I wouldn't mind living in Montana though! Well, I need to get up in 4 hours to get ready for work. Like I said, though, I'll try to quit again. I just need to get my life in order first. Thanks again, Dane. I do appreciate the encouragement. |

I enjoy smoking cigarettes, but I certainly do not advocate the use of tobacco. You live and then you die, and thanks to modern medicine most people live well past their due. Smoking can be seen as an affirmation of life, but I'm sure there are much healthier ways of obtaining the same affirmation.. Whatever that means.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that nicotine does not really calm you down in a strictly physical sense. I think it's a placebo effect type thing with smokers. A lot of the time we just associate stress relief with smoking a cigarette. Having said that, placebo effects can certainly have a high efficacy so cigarettes can certainly relieve stress in people. But what I'm trying to say here is that maybe you can learn to associate a different activity with stress relief? I know it's way easier said than done, but you really have to arm yourself with a bunch of mental weapons when it comes to dealing with that shitty ****ing addiction.

On top of all of that, I just found out that my LDL cholesterol level is extremely high. I'm suppose to cut-out all fried foods, exercise more, and quit drinking. In other words, I'm in for a complete lifestyle change. If I can just get through the next week or so, I'm going to pick a day and do all of that and try to stop smoking again. |

I'm rare, I guess
Been smoking for about six years. Started when I was 30. I ****ing hate it. It completely owns me right now, and I can't seem to find any willpower to quit. |

I smoke roughly a pack of Salem Gold shorts a day. I'm not proud of it. I watched my dad die from his 3rd bout with cancer but I still smoke. I gave it up for 11 years while I was married, bought a pack the day we separated 8 years ago and have been at it again since.

One of our good friends did the same shit. We were all smokers back in college when we partied our asses off, but she never smoked through all those years despite the fact she was around it constantly. Most of us quit as we got older and had families. Then she gets married, has kids, becomes a nurse... and STARTS SMOKING AT 33 YEARS OLD. WTF??
We've all quit years ago, but she's still smoking away.

That's just odd.. Of course I'm the douche that botches about smoking when I allowed peer pressure to persuade me into smoking over one summer.
