Today 12/27 Mel Kiper says.......

Mel says Mike Glennon will be the first QB taken in the 2013 draft and he could be picked in the top 10. He says alot of things could and will change as the draft approaches but as of right now he thinks the Chiefs should trade out of the top spot if they can and if they can't they should take Luke Joeckel with the first pick. He also say the Jaguars should trade down also but if they can't they should take a DE with their first pick.

Stafford and Cutler have mental limitations. Bad example.

You want a complete QB to be smart, study their opponent, and have physical tools but the rah-rah shit is overrated as many have said in this thread.

People love Russel Wilson because of the way he practices and plays. If Wilson didn't have great awareness on the football field, no one would pay a word of attention to any of that Rudy speech shit.

Wilson could turn me against my sweet babboo, there will be plenty of game tape online to look at between now and the draft, but I'll be looking at his feet in the face of the rush, his decisionmaking under pressure and his ability to throw under duress and through forced mechanics, not how well he slapped his lineman on the ass in the huddle.
He's already proven that as seen below. He's got a very good pocket presence and stands tall with his eyes downfield just like Geno. And he has great movement in the pocket like Geno.

That's the difference between Russell Wilson and clowns like Matt Stafford and Jay Cutler. I don't give a **** if they can throw the ball a mile or if they are built like an ox.

I'll take a QB who has good but not great physical attributes with incredible intangibles over a QB who has incredible physical attributes and questionable intangles any day.
So they bail on him on the road then, eh?

Matt Stafford threw for the 5th highest yardage total NFL history last season. He is not the problem in Detroit. As for Cutler, again, by most accounts his teammates will run through walls for him. But the media has pasted this 'diva' label on him and suddenly shit that Brady would get fellated for gets him excoriated. Cutler's problem isn't 'leadership', it's the fact that he's never seen a throw he didn't like (or an offensive lineman he did). He's a questionable decisionmaker and that sometimes burns him. That's it.

The leader label is a horseshit mythology we attach to people in hindsight. There are very few QBs in the history of this league that won because of their leadership (again, Montana, Brady and a few others probably qualify). Most of them were simply capable leaders with exceptional talent.

I lost all respect for these guys when I called Cam Newton and RGIII way before any of the "experts" did and I don't even watch college football. It's called spotting trends.

Geno is going to go #1. I'm sure of it.

Exactly.

The speechifying gets old as hell. Speeches without results make you loathed by your teammates. Tim Tebow will tell you all about it.

(P.S. The example people should be using here is Phillip Rivers; great talent, shit leader. I will counter with 3 simple words - Norv is reeruned).

Cam ran a 4.45, was MASSIVE, and had an absolute cannon along with a hint of undeniable charisma...

and people were like..."oh he'll go in the 2nd or 3rd round."

I told my friends there is NO WAY he wouldn't go #1 overall. Just on a hunch.

When RGIII was going full beast mode last year I was like "there is no way he's not going to go #2"...

I'm not saying I'm super smart or that everybody else on this board didn't agree...but the same shit that happened with those two is happening right now with Geno and it's only a matter of another month or two before everyone is like...

"yep, Geno is going #1"

I've never been more sure of anything.

I won't yell and scream at anyone debating their choice for quarterback. . . It is the morons that don't want to draft a QB at number one that should lose their citizenship

I'm going to go ahead and pass on this guy.

In the second reel, there were plenty of fairly sharp looking five-ten yard throws, but he wasnt testing anything deep.

Then, at around 2:30 he finally goes deep down the right side... with a slow release, underpowered throw thats picked off.

Palko could do what he was doing in this clip.

Yup, I'll be pretty bummed out.

If it's Wilson I could live with it. If it's Bray, I'd be fine as well (though it won't be and probably shouldn't be, he might be that Ryan Leaf level of ****off, I just love his skill-set).

It has to be Geno. He's just the clear top choice at the position to me.

I see you skipped the perfect pass for a TD in the 2nd half

I think we'll be fine. I honestly think the "media" and these "experts" still have something against black QB's. Maybe it's the bad taste left in their mouths from JaMarcus...or maybe they are all just super racist.

I don't know.

Geno passes every single eye test.

Get that shit out of here - leadership is a litmus test, not a driving factor. What wins in this league is talent and yes, you can measure talent. Russell Wilson doesn't win because of "heart" or "determination", he wins because he's a foolishly great athlete with great instincts and sense for the position. I underestimated his potential because of his size and accuracy concerns - I clearly didn't do enough homework.

This Olympics-style human interest shit bores me to tears. Physical talent and intelligence wins ballgames. Leadership can put you over the hump, but we'll worry about that when we get there. Dan Marino was dumb as a hammer and a shit leader, but he won ballgames. Terry Bradshaw was a lazy hillbilly and won 4 Super Bowls. Ryan Fitzpatrick is brilliant and he sucks. Matt Cassel, by all accounts, works as hard as anyone and is as 'determined' as Tom Brady to not blow - he still does.

Blah blah blah - they don't look for heart - blah. Bullshit. Determination does show up on tape and drive shows up in interviews. The good evaluators spot that stuff, the bad ones don't.

Mel Kiper is lazy and doesn't do his homework, it's really as simple as that.
I don't think I look stupid at all.

Tell me Russel Wilson wasn't judged on his size and measurables vs his leadership and desire to be great.

Kiper likes gooseneck because he is 2930 feet tall.
