We can't justify a position that we should have taken Geno at 1.1 with a Russell Wilson/Kurt Warner "you never know" argument. The Chiefs picked up the guy they, and by all accounts most others, thought was the best available QB with their 2nd rounder this year (and a pick TBD later).

Hootie didn't do that. What he declared was that they weren't good prospects not that they couldn't someday shock the world and become good QBs.

All we can do right now is wait n see who pans out at qb in the 2013 season. There were qb's that could have been had that have some nice potential in the 2nd round. Hell, all of them but Manuel. If anyone outside of EJ pans out to a damned good qb, then we ****ed up beyond ****ed up, because they played it "Safe"
As of right now, we dont know because no drafted qb's have played a down in the NFL. |

Not really. They should have done their due diligence to see which QB prospects would pan out. If one does, then it's their fault for not doing enough homework on him and not seeing his potential.

There's not a front office in the league that could live up to that standard. Not one.

Why not? They're job is to project what each prospect in the draft can do. If they miss on one at the most important position on the field, why shouldn't it reflect negatively on their scouting skills?

A healthy amount of the fan base seems to only want a chance at a fun season with a risk-free QB, and until something different happens I am not going to be able to trust that the organization looks at the QB position differently. Just have to hope that it isn't the case, or that Alex actually is more than I think he is. |

Some of these teams have been competing for the last 5 to 10 years, based on missing on draft picks? Or do you think they were just ALL lucky. It was pure luck that Joe Flacco panned out on a team that already had a Super Bowl winning defense from the old regime or that the Packers went from one franchise QB to the next or the Steelers were able to transition from old veterans to young players back to old veterans while having more winning seasons than losing seasons Just FOs not living up to a standard then by your logic, then what are they doing to remain competitive?? literally the only team that has proven to be a fraud, by coaching and players leaving the team for other NFL teams is the Patriots lucking into Tom Brady, that is pure luck that bumbling fraud of a FO fell into. Other than that, these other teams have a model they have stuck by for like 20 years lol |

It's only a minor negative, if that, when the entire league, including the team that ultimately takes him, misses on a guy.
