Is Brandon Albert proving some of the draftniks here right?

So far this season he has not looked very good. What do you think it is? Is he a LG and not a LT (like some draftniks here insisted)? Is he going through sophomore jinx? Is it the weight loss?

You know what? I think I'll make a poll about it.

Unbelievable.

There are times where I actually wish I had never seen Roaf in a Chiefs uniform. Too many people aren't able to see it for what it was.

It's like every Bronco fan from here on out saying every QB they have isn't John Elway. NOBODY WILL EVER BE JOHN ELWAY. JFC

Furthermore, how sad is it that other franchises say this about their QB and we're saying it about a ****ing LEFT TACKLE?

So far as I know, Albert only began playing LT when he put on a Chiefs uniform. How do we know that is his best and highest use as a player? It may be ... then again, circumstances may prove otherwise. Does everybody really think that, were Pioli to find a legitimate, young, high-value, HOF-destined, LT for the right money that he would pass on the guy in order to stick with Albert? I, for one, am not so sure.

FAX
leading up to the draft, milkman was pointing out how Albert was a very good, natural left tackle. He has followed him very closely, and if you read his posts in this thread, on this page, he explains what is going on with Albert. I believe him, he has been right so far.

I'm 100% convinced Albert is the long term LT, and will be an elite LT when he gets his technique down.

That doesn't mean that Pioli won't replace him.

It would be just another move made by Pioli that I'd disagree with.

When did they expand the playoffs to include every team?

May not? Really?

Willie Roaf was named to the All-Decade team in the 90's. He was a 7-time Pro Bowler his first nine years.

You don't think that Albert will match that?

Okay, there's one.

Actually, and although I hate to admit it, Mr. milkman knows what he's talking about when it comes to the great game. If he says Albert is a natural LT, so be it. I guess it's all about technique, then. If so, our o-line coach needs to get to work.

There you are.

In my absence, I guess I haven't been following this issue as closely as I should have. I hope you're right. Locking down the LT position with a young stud is one less headache this team can do without.

I'm sure you've probably dealt with this elsewhere, but what's wrong with Albert's technique, Mr. milkman? Based on the few plays I've seen (the ones where he was beaten 1 on 1), it looks as though he's playing too high. Also, he's not putting the brakes on his opponent with his explosion off the ball. Is that what you're seeing?

I think the problem starts with the feet.

He's trying to learn the proper footwork for a LT.

Last year, he didn't get his feet wide enough, and didn't slide his feet properly, but his natural athletic ability allowed him to get away with it.

Now, however, in attempting to correct that, he is overcompensating and getting his feet too wide, getting off balance, resulting in getting to high, not getting under the pads, and lacking punch.

When he gets the footwork corrected, he should really start to grow.
