Guys guys, you're missing the front office acumen here.

Orton is going to be used for two objectives only.

1. We're going to mine him for his Chicago knowledge before we play them. He's gold in this role.

2. He'll use revenge-strength to beat Denver when we play them again.

His contract is getting reworked to reflect his new goals.

No problem. heh.

Chicago runs an entirely different offense than they did when Orton was there. Just FYI.

Best part of this is that we just stuck it to the Donkos. They could have kept him and gotten a compensatory pick for him in the draft. Instead, they don't get squat, we will get an extra pick. Why all the hate on this move. It means nothing after this season.

Eh, technically they saved a couple million. That's it, though.

Uh, the Broncos CHOSE to do this. We haven't stuck it to them at all.

Pioli isn't the kind of GM who packages picks to move up in the first. I personally thought it was unlikely that we'd make an attempt to draft a QB if he was there in the first, taking the picks to move down, this, in my mind, seals it.

Tyler Palko's not good, but he's also not Tim Tebow. He doesn't panic after a second in the pocket, and he's not incapable of completing passes. How does starting Palko, or Stanzi, for that matter, really hurt the development of the offense?

We'll probably beat Denver, and perhaps one other team, further driving the stake in our own hearts.
