Reid says Geno not out of consideration for No. 1 overall

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
Andy Reid says he'll evaluate 8-10 players for No. 1 pick. Asked why Alex over Geno Smith: "Doesn't mean Geno is out of the water." Smiles.

Oh quit it with the ****ing hindsight bullshit with Russell Wilson. He's so elite that 32 teams passed on him for 2 rounds.

And RGIII had flaws....just like Andrew Luck had a flaw or two.

What about Cam Newton? He only set the rookie passing record in 2011, which was broken by Andrew Luck in 2012. Newton's already amassed 62 TD's in 32 games.

62 TD's in 32 games.
That's insane.

But, I forgot. No one is "elite" coming out of college.

Andrew Luck's only flaw is his speaking voice.

That dude is the most complete pocket passer to ever enter the NFL.

Cam Newton had 1 year of starting experience and was a cocky asshole.

Cam Newton was considered a REACH at number one back in the day. Damn. Dane is viewing history through tinted lenses.

Some of these rookies are elite prospects, but they are not yet elite QBs.

This. I don't remeber seeing all these CP Nostradumbasses pining for Wilson last year. Yeah, there may have been a couple, but he wasn't some can't miss guy that the board was going gaga over.

So, does that negate his rookie season? Does that negate the fact that he was taken #1 overall?

Let me rephrase. There are no elite prospects in this draft.

I'm not talking about his stats in the NFL.

Cam Newton was not considered "elite" coming out college. He had warts the size of oranges.

Possibly trading him? You can't evaluate based on the myriad rumors circulating. Franchising Albert was a good move.

Was cutting Winston was a bad move? It's hard to tell. I'm guessing they had a reason to do it -- it was definitely a personal choice by the coach. Again, I defer to the man with coaching experience.
