Is Dwayne Bowe the most overrated Chief ever?

I've been a fan since I can remember, which was just over 20 years ago. I know we have seen some overrated QB's here, but none of them were paid like Bowe at his position is and I can't think of another highly touted player who can't do his job in critical moments and has been thought of as quality for so long.

People also associate Bowe as the Chiefs 2nd best WR since Otis Taylor when in reality we haven't had a true #1 WR in how long?

What say you?

God he sucks ass.
I am just using other players, the best, for comparison.
so you comparing Bowe to elite receivers but not REALLY comparing him?

Therefore Fisher is not overrated,Bowe is overrated

See how it works? Rating is related to public opinion, not salary.
I asked you for names of people that said Bowe is elite.

I gave you one name of a person who thinks he sucks shit, and you asked your question after mine.

Your turn, dipshit.

you say Bowe made a mistake of ANY kind and the attacks and endless excuses hit

not only do the excuses start but the exaggerations for effect to increase the bitching start

Why people keep saying this? Sure, you can say that the WRs don't get enough deep passes their way.. but they do get get plenty of targets.. more of them meant for YAC.. but still. Bowe has been targeted 91 times this year.. and that's also considering he missed the opening week. Know how many times Cassel targeted him in his great 2010 season? 132 times.

We're not talking "doesn't utilize"... that's just dumb.

Absurd. Bowe would be a good, productive WR virtually anywhere else in the league. There's not much he (or anybody) can do on a team with a QB who can't/won't throw the ****ing ball.

Sandy,

Your boy sucks. Move on. Find another hero to follow. Hopefully, not a KC player.

Calling Bowe overrated is ridiculous. He has played his entire career with below average talent at QB, yet somehow, he is expected to have produced more. Outrageous.

Bowe gets utilized on quick slants and 10 yard digs. That's it. Alex is a 3 step, 1 read QB who gets little help from his offensive line BUT EVEN IF HE DID I still doubt he'd target receivers down field ... since he has NEVER, EVER done it.

He has happy feet and I hate him. Still better than half of the QB's in the NFL, amazingly, but I'm tired of him.

Sigh, I've read through a couple of pages and I'm sure this is following proper procedure.

Bowe is a guy that right now is probably a realistic high-end #2 WR in an average offense. In an offense as bad as ours, he's our #1, but we still throw at him like he's a 3rd or 4th option. This offense and QB are particularly hilarious when it comes to throwing the football.

I thought I'd seen some shit with Matt Cassel, but even he had the go-ahead/balls to unleash some duck punts for Bowe to go up and grab every now and then.

If he ends up re-structuring his contract/staying, he'll go down as one of the best Chiefs WR ever. Which isn't saying much. Hell, if Alex won a playoff game, he'd go down as one of the Chiefs best QB's ever. That's how sad our approach to the passing game has been in this modern flag-football league.

Bowe isn't great, but he can be a very good player if fed the ball. So, no, he's not most over-rated player ever. He is a convenient scapegoat and a bit of a dumbass at times. Kelce is a dumbass too. So I guess we can get used to people getting pissed at him for the next decade when he drops some passes/gets dumb penalties/fumbles; despite probably being the only good receiving option we'll have with whatever Cassel/Smith/Shitdick clone we bring in next.
