ANOTHER DGB THREAD!
Dorial Green-Beckham visiting the Chiefs today
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-chiefs-today/ While many pre-draft visits are for the sake of smokescreen, or to firm up medical information, many of them are for teams to look a player in the eye. Likely along those lines, the Chiefs are bringing in one of the most talented players in the 2015 NFL Draft today, who comes with considerable baggage. Via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Chiefs are hosting former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham today. Green-Beckham has also visited the Bengals and 49ers, and the Vikings and Ravens have also met with him. Plenty of other teams probably have as well, to see if they are willing to gamble on a player with explosive ability and a checkered past. Green-Beckham was kicked off the team at Missouri after a pair of drug arrests, and a domestic violence accusation (though no charges were filed). He transferred to Oklahoma, but never played a down there. If you trust him, he’s the kind of game-breaking talent which any team can use, and getting him with the 18th pick might be a steal. Weighing whether they can take such a chance is the kind of thing most evaluators can’t decide before meeting someone face-to-face, which the Chiefs will do today. |

It's just completely up to how the franchise feels with him. They new alot more than any of us Can or do about the guy.
If they take him, I'm good, if they pass and he goes on to be great it sucks, but I'd understand. Apparently according to Laz article which I skimmed (sorry laz) he's comparable to AJ green and some top wes. |

Out of curiosity how many talented WR sat out a year and didn't pan out? If it's a small sample size then not having a lot of positive examples isn't significant.

I'm fine with this front office's decisions. If they feel he's too good to pass on awesome. I'd like to take a chance on him but if they feel the red flags are too much than I'm ok with that.

As a football player, clearly Gordon's NFL prospects were not damaged by the year off. His issue is that he remains a knucklehead and hasn't learned anything from his ordeal. That's the risk with Green-Beckham. If he has his head screwed on straight now, he has All-Pro physical ability and gifts and can be a 10-year stud in the NFL. This whole "year off" thing... it's not like the guy was sitting on his couch, eating pizza and getting his Goose on (Maurice Clarett). He clearly put in a huge amount of work (evidenced by the improved hands and body/strength/muscle mass he has shown during workouts). Where he gets drafted comes down to how convinced teams are that he has his personal issues behind him. That's what will determine how successful he is in the NFL. If you feel good about him in regards to that, DGB could be a Randy Moss-lite level steal at No. 18 overall.

The thing I come back to is projecting that he didn't have the year off. Say he stayed at mu and stayed on the current projection he was on. If that happens, we likely are discussing him going top 10.
This could be good in that he now has been humbled or whatever. Or could go the other way. Dunno |

Dorial Green-Beckham | CLG
(April 23, 2015 11:49 AM EDT) According to NFL draft insider Tony Pauline, the Seahawks "would love" to select Dorial Green-Beckham if he's available at the 63rd overall pick. The Seahawks reportedly expect Green-Beckham to be off the board "during the initial 15 picks of round two," but players with off-field concerns like DGB's tend to be draft-day wildcards. Seattle's interest in Green-Beckham may signal general interest in big wide receivers, one of the few deficiencies on GM John Schneider's roster. Arizona State's Jaelen Strong could be another round-two target. SOURCE: TFY DRAFT INSIDER |

If this guy is the uber talent some people on this board think he is, he should have gone back to OU, dominated the 2015 season and been a top 3 pick next year. Right now he's looking to be a late first or 2nd round pick. A top 4 pick gets about 20 mil guaranteed, end of the first 4.5.

It removes risk for injury, gets him to the NFL and gets some guaranteed money in his pocket, and gets him out of having to go to class. It's also possible the character concerns linger and drop his draft stock even after another year of college. His issue is not his college tape/production level.
