We're still no better than 8-8 with Mahomes, but he's an inexperienced sophomore and that's to be expected. Why stick with Smith if he has another early playoff exit and has proven incapable in 5 years to take is any farther?

If he takes us to an AFC championship game that obviously changes things, but I'm not expecting that.

I'll reiterate, we shouldn't have taken Mahomes if we planned on sitting him for 2 years. Nobody does that with a top 10 pick at QB.

You are missing the point of the conversation from most here. Reid has shown he is probably going to rest starters if the game doesn't mean anything. So the question isn't as much about Smith vs. Mahomes as Mahomes vs. Bray.

Mahomes is a questionable asset. There are a lot who have him over valued on the Chiefs balance sheet.

He will get his time when Andy pulls the trigger, but QB's are Andy's specialty and he will not just fire up the new Ferrari to hear the exhaust rumble. I just hope that he makes a commitment to winning playoff games like he may never see one again as I doubt we do before Brady, Big Ben, Rodgers, and Brees... are long retired
