Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. I am finally seeing strength gains on the bench again! I was stuck at the same weight for about a year before I started really getting into crossfit in February. Since then, I've mostly been doing a lot of crossfit, running, biking, and other sports. I rolled my ankle a little over a month ago so I've been doing a lot more lifting lately & I've been surprising myself with my strength gains lately.

Plates means 45's on each side. Meaning Omaha benched 135lbs. Benching two plates would be 225lbs, etc. Like I deadlifted 4 plates today....405. /you ain't serious bro?

So can you look at a n00bs callouses and tell if he's doing something wrong or right?
My biggest callous is under the ring finger of each hand, the middle and pinky each have less noticible callouses and there are no callouses under the index fingers. |

Ditto on my callouses. I do have them under my pinkies as well. That's probably from all my kettlebell curls.
