Every once in a while you get reminded how ****ing stupid people can be. Reading the last few hours of this thread did that.

It's a game, a dangerous one that people play for a lot of money knowing that any play can be their last. Unfortunately for the NFL, it happened on live TV in front of millions of fans. Players in college and high schools die and are critically injured every year. Where is the outcry about that?

No one really cares except how does this affect MY team in the playoffs.

As your proposal to cancel the season clearly illustrates.

The 2 week break between the Championship games and Superbowl means you could postpone the post season by a week allow this game to be replayed/resumed this week and have cincy and buffalo w18 games played next weekend.

This would have massive commercial implications of course but frankly **** the corporate big wigs

If his condition worsens, then just cancel the rest of the season. I don't like it however you have to show some respect for the people.
They didn’t cancel the NFL season for 9/11 or for the Covid-19 2020 season, you think they’re going to cancel the rest of the season for this, with millions of dollar stake? What a ridiculous take.

All of those, yes. Don't erase the work they already did.

What outcry? Don't play if you don't like it. Don't watch if you don't like it. Shit happens and it sucks. Do you think this could have somehow been avoided? In football terms, the hit wasn't particularly violent or extreme in any way. We all hope he gets better, of course, and we all feel for the teammates and family. What does your yelling at the sky accomplish? Are you just trying to virtue signal to everyone about what a caring person you are?

He had a heart attack and every media outlet is acting like he was assassinated while on the field. He's alive and will survive. Fluke incident like having an aneurysm and yes I have seen that happen in front of me, guy dropped dead while we were at softball practice. He probably had some type of heart condition that went undetected. David Goggins went through special ops training for years with one. People in this world get beaten and killed every day with zero media coverage. What happened is awful and certainly should make the league pause but it's being blown out of proportion compared to what the media should be talking about.

I accept my ban from the weak mods.

They just changed the schedule for next week a day ago, so it’s not like they couldn’t just change it again today and push the regular season back a week. They could either push the Super Bowl back a week or just eliminate the bye week.

I don't think they will push the Super Bowl back a week. There is just to many moving parts. With that said, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Has there alway been a 2 gap break between the Championship games and Superbowl?

Just checked think last time the championship games went straight to Superbowl was 1991
