VARSITY
****The 2018 NFL Draft Thread**** (No Spoilers)

Let's ****ing do this.

Last year was a one-of-a-kind, so let's hope the luck carries over to this year, with Brett Veach at the helm for the first time.

Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's McCaffrey to Tampa) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

Don't be a dick.

Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

I'll also be starting threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

*Note: For 2017 hilariousness, view that thread here.

Wait, what? If there's something to be angry about, it's playing a 283lb guy at OLB? WTF? Guy looks like he could eat a few dozen steaks and be an ideal 5T. He ran a 4.9.

Can't be real. Reid's had too many pina coladas.

I would point out to the folks that watch the Ole Miss game against LSU, Miss. State, & Texas A&M. He was unblockable at those games.

I said after watching Jacksonville play Pittsburgh that we need a defense that plays meaner. This guy only adds to that along with Hitchens.

The worst thing is, they're all shitty copies of each other. If Mayock and 1 or 2 other dudes had Derwin James at 15 or so, every other POS ranking would, too. And then guess what? Suddenly he's not the steal of the century. In reality, the NFL unanimously grades him the same (i.e. no one takes him top 10, and no one trades up when he starts sliding).

I used to get so hyped or angry about draft picks. Then I realized this shit is a ****ing lottery -- and that's from the guys who actually know what they're doing. The talking heads and internet nerds? Well that's just pure fiction. All these people pretending they have ANY clue who's good or not is hilarious. Especially judging interior OL or similar. That's always been the funniest. "Yeah man, I've totally spent 100 hours studying this Northern Iowa 6th round center prospect. He's such a steal man, yeah."

If you trade up it’s got to be for a great player not a project. Well we have quite a wait until 86. I’m checking out for awhile. This reminds me of the great Chiefs picks in the 2nd round.

Can’t wait to see who Oliver goes to.

Bengals fans must have 3-day long erections every year at this time. They draft straight out of ESPN's magazine. And it works sooooo well, too. Especially when their guys are not in jail.

“#Chiefs coach Andy Reid just said that Veach has "wore him out" with several players over the years...specifically naming LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, Fletcher Cox, Chris Jones, and Patrick Mahomes.

Not a bad list...and Breeland Speaks is now on that list.” - @ChiefsReporter

Veach was the man behind Mahomes and Jones.
