The MIA Heat Show Thread

LA will be dethroned. The LAC Lake Show will be dead. So it's time to create a thread to follow the new dynasty.

Going on tour starting this October.

He's capable of being more dominant than Kobe.

But he isn't.
After focusing on James in last night's Blazer embarassment for the Heat, I have to agree. James is not more dominant than Kobe. If that were true, he would have taken over that game last night in the last 7 minutes. But, he didn't and actually I don't think he could anyway. He just looked like a 30 point scorer and nothing more. He is mentally weak.

LeBron dominates games because of his efficiency, court vision, and rebounding/defensive ability in a way that Kobe cannot.

Quote:
What stops LeBron is between his ears and always had been. What's he's capable of doing is irrelevant in the context of what's actually been done. Kobe Bryant has actually been the more dominant player. He's actually imposed his will on far more occasions and in far more critical situations. No, he hasn't been as efficient, but that's not what we're discussing.
Even a mentally fragile LeBron is the most dominant player in the NBA. The stats don't lie here. And LeBron does imposes his will on games. There's a reason the Cavs full of role players won 60+ games two years in a row. There's a reason his even more mediocre Cavs team five years ago made it to the NBA Finals. You can't downplay or ignore these things like they didn't happen.

Quote:
LeBron is not as good a passer as Kobe is, but he worked in a 1-pass offense in Cleveland where he dominated the ball and often got dimes on simple jumpers. Kobe plays in the triangle where there are multiple passes and the 'money' pass often comes out of the pinch post or the low blocks, many times by a front-court player. It's an entirely different offense.
LeBron isn't as good of a passer as Kobe? For serious? If you don't want to look at the stats because of the Triangle offense, you can simply use your eyes.

This thread is insane. Comparing LePippen to Kobe is ridiculous. He hasn't done shit and neither have the Heat. I can't believe people are actually putting the words "NBA title" and "Heat" in the same discussion. There's like 18 games left and they still haven't morphed into a TEAM. They aren't doing anything in the playoffs.

That's really yet to be seen, though don't you think?. It's really nothing more than the Vernon Gholston argument (claimed potential) until he shows some real signs.

I've always said LeBron's weakness is the mental side of the game. It's the main reason I don't like him as a player (it's certainly not his arrogance, almost all of the best players are arrogant). Despite that hindrance, though, he's still a better and more dominant player than Kobe ever was. That's how much his talent means.

I watched Kobe go 8 for 24 with 2 assists and 7 turnovers in a brutal loss against the worst team in the NBA, the Cavs, two weeks ago. Does that make him mentally weak?

He'll never accomplish what Kobe has done because of the fact that he is mentally soft. When the going get tough, the tough leave the city.

LeBron has more potential than Kobe because of his physical makeup, skills included, no doubt. But potential doesn't get you anything. He'll never touch his ceiling because he's a tard and doesn't want to do everything necessary.

In that game, probably but certainly his shots were. But, does that happen to Kobe when the chips are down? Almost never. He comes through when it really matters and the Heat REALLY need a win. They are falling apart currently.

It happens to Kobe all the time. He often takes too many bad shots and they turn into losses. It especially happened when he didn't have Shaq or Gasol to help him.

How many playoff victories, championships where his play was instrumental down the stretch providing victory for LeDown and Kobe? It's not even close. You know it...Go ahead admit it. We all know

The real question is whether he would have gotten any of those opportunities without Shaq or Gasol. I think the definitive answer is no.

Depends who else they could have gotten on that team. Gasol is not a superstar on this team. He's a good player, but he's not even on the level of Scottie Pippen. Gasol against physical players is weak imo, he's mentally weak. Hell dominate skinny guys though. I have always made it clear that while gasol is a good player, thats about it. He's not great.

I think people forget that the Lakers had the best record in the West BEFORE Gasol got to that team in 2008. This was already passed the halfway point of the season. Bynum was playing great that season til he hurt his knee.

LeDown had Shaq as well. How'd that work out? Most Championship teams need a very capable if not dominant center. That is obvious and I won't waste time trying to debate their contribution. I would take Kobe in the last 24 sec and the ball for the win over giving the ball to LeDown any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I don't care who the center is

Lebron cannot touch kobe in any facet of the game in the last 5 minutes. Period.

I don't believe Gasol is mentally weak for a second. He's led his Spanish team to great success in the Worlds and Olympics in tough environments and top competition. His role was also instrumental in both the Lakers' championships.
