I'll probably find the time to keep daily updated brackets in the thread. In the mean time, who do you have winning it all? Kentucky a lock? Teams lose. So I don't think so. I truly believe undefeated hurts you going into The Dance.

Virginia's head coach Tony Bennett comes from Wazzu and I remember being happy the day he left even though I wondered why Virginia? Not rooting for them. I really don't know.

I expect Kansas to not make the sweet 16 potentially. Definitely not a championship contender (which would make it all the sweeter should they defy the odds).

People were bashing the committee because UCLA got in and now they're in the Sweet 16. The Big "12" has had its ass whipped this year.

Kansas, as usual, is overrated and got beat, this time badly, by a much lower seeded team.

Just like 08 when all four #1's made the final four and Kansas won it. Just like the Chiefs did that year.

This is true. Your UCLA example is also why your second sentence is a bit puzzling. The tournament shouldn't be a referendum on an entire season. Teams get hot. Was UConn the best team last year? Hell no. They got hot at the right time and rode the wave.

Kansas being overrated isn't their fault. They won a lot of games against the toughest schedule in college basketball for the last 10 years. What were they supposed to do? Reject the seed? All KU fans knew the team wasn't as good as usual.

And that "much lower seeded team" ended the season ranked 4 spots lower than KU in the AP poll and 2 spots lower in the coaches' poll. That was a good team. It wasn't surprising.

For the second year in a row, KU doesn't have its full team at the end of the year. They lose Embiid at the end of the year and go down to a bad Stanford team. And this year, they lose Cliff Alexander at the end of the year (who leads the team in PER and WS/40) and have a clearly not 100% Perry Ellis. Make no mistake: KU got outplayed both last year AND this year and deserved to lose both games. But it's certainly doing the team no favors to play the whole year with one team and then have to play the rest of it with a different lineup.

Perhaps things are different if the media doesn't overrate KU all year. But it's not the team's fault that they got a 2 seed.

It is absolutely on Self and the players that they didn't hustle or play to win.

Kind of funny to watch WVU rattle teams with their brand of "basketball." They just turn these games into complete physical grinds where the impact of talent is lessened. Should be interesting to see how UK deals with it.

Have to give them credit, though, they play harder than anybody to make up for that lack of talent and it pays off in wins.

Dude, it's simple.

KU gets a favorable seeding, then loses to teams with less favorable seedings.

They're overrated and very often, do no play to their seed.
