Apparently jacobs wasn't so positive last night after the game...i got the gist of it this morning from twibell, but it was like 'oh so this is how it is in kc" the way he talked. Suprising since he's been positive since he's been here, hopefully it starts a bunch of shit with guillen throwing a cooler or something too haha.
this team needs fire....and twibell was saying teahen was practically like the rest of the team in denial about or skid, saying 7-21 isn't that bad and they still can win etc... Jacobs pretty much felt the opp, after we got owned hte last 2 games hoping that this homestand would put us on the right track. |

He paraphrased saying that jacobs wasn't happy after the loss and said we won't win anything playing like this. basically had the attitude like other veteran players that have come here, like how does this happen? The way they lose, the amount of losses. He said being a marlin was much different than this. Basically no one in the lineup can back anyone up if they fail.
Not exact words but i didn't hear them from mike, from twibell |

After watching the Royals for years I have come to the conclusion that this is always how it's gonna be for a very long time. We will win 5 in a row then lose a bunch in a row. This team is mediocre and will not get any better because all we do is draft sub-par over hyped guys ( Gordon ) and broke down "power hitters " ( guillen, Jacobs ).
As of right now everyone on the team can get the **** out cept Meche, Grienkie and butler. One last thing, how doe's Hochaver put up one of the best pitching perfomances of the season for any team in baseball last friday then turn around 5 days later and do the complete opposite? Boggles my mind. |

Apparently Tim Kurkjan has said that one start hochevar throws 88-91 and then another start 92-95 and said someone in the royals or a scout said they can't figure him out. Why the fluctuation on velocity...

In other words, when you're getting shut out and then you go down on 4 ****ing pitches in the 9th, this screams complete incompetence and quit. No ML team should ever allow a pitcher to throw a CG on 80 pitches; it's a joke. Hochevar was and is a mediocre pitcher. No need to get too excited. |

I find it funny when Jacobs or Guillen get pissed off and go off about how the team does when they are 2 of the worst players we have. Guillen has no buisness playing in the field cause he runs like a ****ing cripple and Jacobs IF he hits the ball also can't run for shit so IMO those ****ers need to sit the **** down and shut the **** up and be grateful someone actually pays there ass to still play baseball

As for the money they're dishing out, they have to overpay second tier players just to get them to come here at all. That's just reality. These discussions are a year or two too early. That's the real point I'm making. Baseball is not a quick-fix sport like football. |

Furthermore, we've seen the fruits of his first pick, Hochevar--this was Moore because A.) it was his selection or B.) he foolishly didn't voice an opinion on the organization's most important draft. Either way, he failed. Let's hope subsequent picks perform far better, since we're in desperate need of star power. By all accounts, the Royals have been drafting well of late, but, with baseball, who really knows... |

As for "giving him a pass on mishandling funds", I'd say they've pretty much gotten what they paid for. I thought they were a 75-win team heading into the year, and they're on about a 72-win pace right now. People got excited when they started hot, but things always even out in baseball. They probably won't finish the year as good as they were in the first month and a half of the season, but they probably won't be as bad as they were in the last month, either. And there's a ton of ball left to be played. Hell, they're not even halfway through the year. Patience. See how it plays out over the next three months, and then go from there. |
