Does Charles and Bowe and other Chief players seeking Peyton's autograph bother you?

Jamaal Charles Waited Around for Peyton Manning’s Autograph After Losing To Peyton Manning

Sean Newell

According to Neal Jones of KCTV-5, Dwayne Bowe also got in on the action and posed for some pictures with Manning following Kansas City's 17-9 loss to the Broncos. And he actually made some sense. When cameras caught the two Chiefs stars milling around for Manning, it was a goofy bit of video—which you can see below. While Jamaal Charles was clearly embarrassed and tried to play it off like his mom wanted the autograph, Bowe leveled with us.
Bowe: "It's a legend, I guess. It's Peyton Manning. Who wouldn't want a picture with him? If you had an opportunity, would you take it?"
Reporter: "Yeah, I'd like him to throw me passes, too."
Bowe: "That too but right now the best thing I have is a picture so I'll live with that."
Yes, autographs and the like are weird, and adults asking for them are even weirder, but there is something that makes sense when it's one colleague acknowledging and appreciating the skill of another.
KCTV 5 Or you could get angry because these guys aren't suicidal after a loss.

Seems to me this is common in the current era.

Ross was a throwback type of player. Kind of old school.

Rich Baldinger doesn't like it either.

Doesn't surprise me. Most of their playing time was during the 80s.

If you have a problem with someone getting friendly or getting autographs with the opposing team after a game, please kindly go **** yourself.

One of the greatest thing about sports is the fact that when the gloves are hung up, when the helmets are off, when the cleats go in the locker you can look across at your fellow man and say hey, good game.

Hell, it even SPAWNED a whole concept and word based off of that. SPORTSMANSHIP. JFC people.

I remember when I got Eddie Kennison's autograph at Sports Nutz. I was talking to him about how much I hated Denver, figuring he'd hate them, too, but he didn't. I think he just thought I was nuts.

These guys don't see things like we do. If somebody gave me Manning's autograph I'd wipe my ass with it, but I don't expect them to feel that way.

It would've been that way in the 90s with Marty. He hated all division opponents and anyone caught getting a guy like Elway's autographed would've been benched at the very least. Guarantee it.

As for me personally, I don't care too much as long as it all goes down on the field during game-time.

There's nothing wrong with having class, asking a rivals big time free agent for autograph shtick and pictures isn't though. It's disgusting and would be frowned upon in a bad european soccer league, let alone in big boy NFL football circles.

Disgusting?

This goes on around the NFL. This isn't just JC and Bowe.

The day the NFL signed a $1.7 billion dollar TV rights deal is the day that rivalries died.

The players have since realized they're part of a very small fraternity, hence the lack of hatred and general camaraderie after every game.

Yep.

2 reasons why this is a story: 1-10 & KCTV had cameras there.

This story would be better if Matt Casshole asked for his autograph and picture.
