You have to look at the entire season, and the consistent theme throughout the entire season was the mediocre play, lack of production from the Chiefs WR's. Statistically the Chiefs had the worst group of WR's in the league. The only reason the Chiefs passing yardage wasn't ranked last was because of Jamaal Charles in the passing game. |

But as I pointed out earlier, I'm looking further down the road and have a problem with the scheme itself. When JC is gone in 2 years, or when/if this current regime gets run out of town, there are going to be some dark days on offense. This scheme can work when you revolve it around guys like Westbrook, Shady and JC. Without them, your offense is garbage - and it's not exactly easy to find those types of players. |

Marquise Lee and Donte Moncrief, the two most-mentioned names here, had problems with dropped passes. |

In total fairness, if Dee Ford wan be expected to stay healthy and eventually learn to play the run - or Gaines can develop some talking skills - why can't Lee/Moncrief develop better hands?

There would have to be a colossal collapse for that to happen. Hell, without the Belcher incident, Pioli might not have been fired. |

I realize that you're thinking down the road but most people here aren't. They're bitching about our current crop of WRs because we didn't get an immediate upgrade. Sure, hands can be developed but they won't be overnight. Neither Lee nor Moncrief makes this offense better RIGHT NOW, which is precisely what everybody is wanting. |

It's silly to worry about stuff 2 or 3 years down the road. So much can change so fast in the NFL.

Health can be a bit of a by-product of luck (at times, anyway). So I see these issues as quite a bit different. |

So bottom line, we all sit around hoping JC never gets hurt and AR is able to replace one of the most talented backs in the game. |

That game took a HERCULEAN effort by Alex and Bowe against a weak defense to be in that position (only to be let down by Sutton's chickenshit no-blitz defensive gameplan). That's not something you can rely upon to happen every game. Wide Receiver is the weakest position on the team and they've done virtually nothing to address it.

I realize getting better than Charles is wholly unrealistic but again, if there's one thing I trust Reid with, it's the RB position. |

Didn't we play with Baldwin at the beginning of last year? The man did nothing. I think they see something in Jenkins; maybe he just needs more time in Reid's system? Plus Bowe cannot be worse than last year. I think they really went BPA so you gets what you get. I kinda like this year' draft. Go ahead, call me silly.
