Killer aps for the iPhone?
My wife finally got her beloved iPhone. I admit that I can't stop playing with the thing either. Anyone have any favorite apps? I've downloaded some freebies: facebook, wikipedia, sports updates, flashlight.

What are some must haves that are actually worth paying for?

I don't care for the controls on Nukem at all though.

I haven't played it long enough to have an opinion yet. I never owned the game on PC so this is new to me.

I kind of regret getting Duke now. Why can't all FPS on the iphone just adopt what wolfenstien did for crying out loud.

Im sure it's been mentioned, but the Apple remote is pretty cool. You can control your itunes music from your phone.

So let's talk about this jailbreaking thing. I assume, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that this enables your phone to customize etc. My question is can you screw up your phone doing this? Are the benefits worth the risks?

You can't screw up your phone doing it. Just follow the instructions. Worse case scenario, something goes wrong and you just reinstall the official firmware and try again.

It's pretty painless. And yes, you can customize the hell out of it afterward. Do a full backup beforehand, so if anything does go wrong, you can zap the phone back to the exact same state and you won't lose any contacts, apps, settings, etc. You can't harm it. Like any computer application, you can uninstall the jailbreak if you want to and your phone will be exactly the same as it was beforehand. There's really no risk, and the benefits are incredible.

okay so it's jailbroken, i went to cydia to download some stuff thus far. What are the must haves for customization etc. I have no intention of downloading the 3.1 update just because I'm using tethering as my internet connection. What are the greatest things you've come across because it reads pretty technical on that sight. I can hold my own when it comes to pcs but apple got me ****ed up

I wanted to take a picture at a Thanksgiving beach party and it wouldn't even run the camera app, and it had plenty of both RAM and storage memory. There were numerous other problems as well. Total crap.
