Browns Starting Campbell

Jason Campbell to start for Browns this week

After hedging for a few days, Browns coach Rob Chudzinski has made a change.

Per Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com, Chudzinski announced that quarterback Jason Campbell would start this week in place of Brandon Weeden.

If there was ever any doubt that the Browns were ready to hit reset at the position this offseason, this should clear it up.

Campbell was leapfrogged by Brian Hoyer earlier this season, and if they’re willing to replace Weeden at this point, he’s clearly not part of their future thinking.

Campbell started a game for the Bears in 2012, and has also played some replacement-level football for the Raiders and Redskins.

He’s the 20th Browns starting quarterback since 1999, while he sets the stage for No. 21.

The Browns right side of the line, is in flux very much like last years Bears team was. Also, I am basing this off of the stuff I have seen.

He was awful in the preseason, he was awful in his limited work.

And on top of that, he is on a team that has quit.
So was Campbell awful yesterday?

Their problem, I think, is their shitty talent evaluation. They also don't do their best to put the guys they draft in a position to succeed.

They're hella talented now but made a shit decision in taking Weeden a couple years ago. They seemed to have had a good one in Hoyer but.. I don't know.. They're just snake bitten.
I don't even think it's bad talent evaluation but more along the lines of a losing culture.

It's amazing what putting no name players in a winning culture/ franchise will do to elevate players games, or how putting great players on shitty teams will do negatively to ones career.

Hopefully for the browns fans, The house cleaning will work out for them.

I feel kinda bad for Campbell.

The Browns probably should have won that game but that Davone Bess kid didn't just suck on the muffed punt, every critical time they went to him he shit the bed.
