To be honest that would be awesome. Although Ive always though it was Coach Stram. Wish I could ask the old man.

I've got a Marcus Allen signed hat from 1993 in my garage somewhere. Is something like that worthy anything?

Probably not if you can't authenticate it. I also have a hat Marcus signed for me in person, but since nobody took a picture of him signing it, it's probably worthless. Which is ironic, since it's one of the few I actually got in person and know is 100% legit.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not like Allen's autograph is chopped liver or anything. |

Maybe scratch the Spence recommendation. Seems like there are some questions surrounding them. PSA seems to still be good. Doubt any organization is going to be 100% though.

I have three autographs that I got in person - Allen, Eddie Kennison and Ginger Lynn. I have one that is personalized and was directly got for me by one of my bosses (Montana). Of the rest, several are almost certainly legit, but some.... who knows? Considering the high number of frauds out there, I have to assume that even though all my stuff is "authenticated" in some way and I always scrutinize stuff before I buy it, some of it is bound to be fake. |

It turned out he wasn't able to make it because he got lost or something like that. Who knows why he didn't actually show. Obviously at the time it wasn't that big of a deal since it was just a rookie that had never even played a game yet, so I am sure no one really gave it a second thought. Once they realized he wasn't going to make it they sent Donnie Edwards out to us instead. So instead of a Tony Gonzalez rookie autograph I got a Donnie Edwards autograph on a mini Chiefs helmet. Then shortly thereafter, a year or so I guess, we proceeded to really destroy what little value it had by having Elvis Grbac sign it. Oh what could have been. |

I have the same dilema. I have some great signed baseballs from when I was a buyer for a athletic shoe store. Mantle, Mays, Williams, Snider...just to name a few. I probably have 20 HOF'ers signatures on baseballs, pictures and 3x5 cards, but none have COA's.
