Pioli hired the scouts.

I'm fine with giving them the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity for a fair and thorough evaluation by a competent NFL man in Reid.

But I'm fairly confident in saying that everything about the fundamental organization of the franchise, from upper-management to the scouting network, under Pioli was about as ****ed up as it could be.

I highly doubt that man successfully hits the toilet on most days. Thus, since epic failure assembled our scouts and they were hand-picked by him, I'm equally confident in saying that they probably need to be flushed.

It's just really hard to understate how badly Pioli executed his job.

Who knows in five years whether Reid and Dorsey will be wise hirings, but one thing for sure as of right now they are the top HC and GM on the market and we got them both. Big, big win for the Chiefs and Clark Hunt. Hopefully the Clark does not care about winning talk will die down for good.

I don't have a problem with the Moeaki pick. He's talented, he's just injury prone. lots of players get drafted later than they should because of injuries, you just hope they get over it, and a lot do. TM hasn't been able to shake the injuries, but I have no problem with him as a player or the pick. I do have a big problem with the 1st nd 2nd round picks that have been wasted under Pioli.

The regional and national scouting guys are Patriots guys. I'm not opposed to getting rid of these guys but again... we can't forget that they are in an unfair position of providing information to a guy who was incompetent at knowing what to do with it.

The area scouts... two of them were Chiefs guys and two of them were non-tree hires. Think it's a little ridiculous to suggest these guys' jobs were on the line for following orders.

The Chiefs traded up to select Moeaki while Jimmy Graham and Aaron Hernandez were still on the board.

It was a stpid pick, made even more stupid by the fact that he did trade up to make it.

The Brokaki pick, in a vacuum, is somewhat understandable. However, when Jimmy Graham goes two picks later and you're the highest paid GM in the league, the selection becomes the most pointed evidence of your incompetence and nepotism.

The big point I'm trying to make is... do you blame the scouts for making this pick? Because I'm sure Pioli made this pick armed with clear information about Moeaki's injury history, but he made the pick anyway. So again... was Pioli given bad information from the scouts? Or was he making horrendous decisions off of good information?

I'll compare this to a business. I've seen brilliant researchers who feed reports to VPs who make shitty decisions with good information. It would be foolish to fire your entire research department. Many of those guys' information will turn out to be great if they handed it off to a VP who knew what to do with it.

No idea why there hasn't been a public apology thread from those who lectured us about this worthless mother****er. He ended up fitting them for the most colorful clown suit in history.
