That's debatable when you have 15-20 guys that would have been better picks that people have listed. But let's run with that "the talent wasn't there" line of bullshit, which has been used to justify the Eric Fisher and Tyson Jackson selections.

Why select McCluster? He had NO role on this team. We had to manufacture one.

-Jamaal Charles was a FAR better speed back and primary ballcarrier

-It took him years to learn the slot receiver position, and even when he was learning, he never got enough reps there because the coaches thought he was this untouchable gadget player like Dante Hall. They essentially had to carve out that role for him

-When Charles was injured in 2011, McCluster was a shitty tailback, yet his presence on the team with Thomas Jones said to everybody, "Eh, no worries... we're fine at the position." No we weren't. We basically had Thomas Jones and Shaun Draughn as our primary RBs.

-Even then, we drafted him assuming he could return some kicks? Guess what our other 2nd round pick was supposed to do as well. Yep. We drafted TWO kick returners with TWO second round picks.

Maybe Philadelphia would have picked him in the 2nd round. They actually would have NEEDED him, though. We never ****ing did. Not even as a backup. We had to find a role for him to play. Remember Kris Wilson? Sound familiar to you? He was a 2nd round pick.

Drafting specialists in the 2nd round like that is the ****ing stupidest thing ever. And Pioli was notorious for that shit.

He's average at best.
He is a kick returner at best and that is it.. A little shifty with speed but zero strength. Bad pick in the second round.

He doesn't have the ability to making people miss with the ball. You have to use his quickness to get to a spot and then throw him the ball behind the defenders.
I was pissed off when I found out the Chiefs were starting him off splitting time between different positions. I said his best chance of success was succeeding as a receiver and he should spend the majority of his practice time learning that.

It shouldn't surprise people that that's how it turned out. I completely disagree that you have to throw him the ball behind the defenders. He became a legit slot receiver at the end of the year. He was making back shoulder catches, caught several deep routes, etc... was probably the Chiefs' most reliable 4th quarter receiver toward the end of the year.

The Chiefs would have really benefited from keeping him. They lost him because some dumbass team overpaid him to play a role he's not suited for. As a possession receiver, he was an excellent option.

He was a slightly above average 2nd round pick. Albeit, again, forgettable.

Someday people are going to realize on this site that 2nd round picks are merely a coin flip, at best. Brandon Flowers' are about 1 in 10.
The draft is a crapshoot, not only in the 2nd round, but from the very first pick.

The goal in the second round is to find starters.

You only hit on that about 35-40% of the time, but that doesn't change the goal.

He is still causing little bitches to be bitches and he's not on the team. Provably the most talked about 2nd round pick ever.

Well done dexter. Well done.

I would take and waste a 2nd rd pick on a player like dexter just to see the usual suspects meltdown each year. We should draft more Geno's.

What's funny is the way so many coaches are still obsessed with trying to make him into some kind of weapon he's not.

Todd Haley misused him, but then he put him full time at the slot receiver position. I would bet that the majority of Dex's growth as a player came during that time. Then Romeo/Daboll decided to put him back at RB like a moron. Andy Reid put him back in as a full time receiver. Now Whiz is stupidly putting him back in as a gadget, thinking he's his new version of Randle El.

We'll see if Whiz gets it. But he has plenty of tape to show him how dumb an idea it was in the first place.

Man thats nice.
