If your vote went to O line or WR it should have gone to Dorsey.

It didn't have to be like this...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I guess I don't understand the obsession with the oline and WRs.

As long as Alex Smith is the QB, the oline is not going to affect our ability to win. The only way we can win is through a dominant defense and running game. Sorry to break it to people, but it's true. I would much rather build around a different QB. But I'm a little confused about why people think it makes that much of an appreciable difference if we suddenly start stacking this offense with a bunch of weapons that Smith is going to underutilize.

Yet when a QB that no one claimed to be top-shelf can't excel with all of this? Oh, **** him... he's to blame! he needs to GTFO!!!!

I completely disagree.

Ford has shown flashes during his time on the field. IMO, they screwed him just as they screwed Fisher. I blame the coaching staff, not Dorsey.

Dorsey also plucked good players off practice squads and signed players like Mauga, who isn't a "special" player but good depth that unfortunately was forced to start for most of the season. Without guys like him, Fleming, Ron Parker, Smith, etc., this defense would have been abysmal.

Ford's true value will noticeable next year when, when Hali's gone. He's done a great job in with third rounders (Gaines and Davis) a good job with 4th rounders (DAT & Nico Johnson, who now starts for the playoff Bengals) and so on.

What truly sucks is that an undrafted free agent player like Wilson stands on the sidelines for 13 weeks but once he's given a chance, proves that he should have been starting all season long.

Again, Andy Reid is a bozo.

I see your point, but Dorsey has to give Reid a certain amount of freedom. So if anything... Andy is the one that screwed up by believing he and the fellow coaches could coach up a bunch of OL scrubs. It was arrogant and blew up in his face. I don't think I could put that on Dorsey.

That is bull. Dorsey doesn't have to his employee that kind of freedom.

I have a hard time blaming the Hunts. Clark has spent big bucks bringing people who he (as well as most fans, talking heads, etc.) believed would turn things around. Hasn't panned out but nobody can say he hasn't been trying.

Here's the deal....
-Defenses started capitalizing on Alex Smith's horrible ability to pick up the blitz
-Defenses started cramming the box with defenders since Smith has thrown a woefully bad 6 completions of 20+ yards. I think that was 31st in the NFL
-Alex Smith had the ball in his hands in 4 of the Chiefs' 7 losses. In our other losses, he didn't score a single meaningful TD in the second half

I get that our OL is terrible. But Smith has got to pick up the blitz better, he's got to get rid of the ball faster, and he has GOT to take shots downfield to keep the defense from attacking. The Chiefs went from 7-3 to 1-4 in the next 5 games. It's not like the Chiefs saw bigger, badder pass rushers in those 5 games. They started blitzing, stacking the box, and daring Smith to throw deep. That's a QB problem.

This.

And if you're going to blame Dorsey, blame the fatass who brought him in and sold the deal.
