Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

This is going to fail. It's going to fail at an epic capacity. We will want to burn down the stadium in a couple years it will fail so badly...

Lets say this somehow works for a couple 3 years. The best we will ever see is a 9 to 11 game winning season, We will NEVER overtake the Donkeys with Peyton Manthing. Alex Smith will NOT take us deep into the playoffs.

This "clutch" factor that you speak of doesnt exist in my opinion. The guy is TERRIBLE on third downs when he is needed the most. Clay pointed out yesterday how bad Smiths record is when opposing teams score 24 or more. Alex Smith's career record when the opponent scores at least 24 points: 2-27-1. So he certainly cant bring us back in a game.

**** that.

His best seasons were in a run first offense. The polar opposite of Reids offense. I've tried to wrap my head around this for the better part of 24 hours. I just don't see it. My signature tells the whole story.

Is he going to hold another GM at gunpoint to make the trade? Who the hell is going to want to trade with the Chiefs now? They just showed their hand and there is no threat of the Chiefs taking a QB.

Guys relax we are going to still draft Geno Smith with the 1st pick, stay positive, we just needed someone to teach Geno the WCO, Alex Smith will only be here for 1 to 2 years.

It will make a huge difference in how I feel about this trade.

This move does lead me to believe we might go and get a Jennings or the like in FA.

Sunshine and Rainbows you got Alex Smith!
This is very true. And I might add, the 49ers reached to get him that high. But obviously Harbaugh and Baalke knew what they were doing. Kap was terrible in the preseason...and even this pre-season might I add. He had release issues. He had trouble putting touch on his passes. Not to mention he had zero experience running a pro-style offense. Nobody knew that he would come in on Monday night and light up what was the best defense in the NFL at the time. Our offensive philosophy had to adapt with Kap's skill set. Just like Reid will adapt his game plan around Smith with your excellent running game.

not every team is gunning for a QB, that's why. Look if you love Floyd and think the Raiders are going grab him, then you'd give up a 2 to get the first pick ... or any number of scenarios. Just throwing your hands up in the air and declaring the 1.1 worthless because we traded for AS is stupid.

So you're angry about having Smith AND the fact you gave up 2 seconds? I guess that's fair.

So not only do we get pile drived by the 49ers on the Smith deal but then we turn around and get pile drived again by a team trading up for Floyd with just giving us one 2nd... AWESOME!

Raiders pick 3rd and the 4th pick is valued at 1800 vs 3000 for the #1 pick. Pick #33? Just 580 points and the Jags don't need to trade up in fear of the Raiders picking Floyd.

Hey snoop!

I have never seen a more hostile group! I feel really bad for Alex if this is the feeling of the fan base in general.

The one good thing is that Alex AND Reid have the world to prove. And Alex likes playing with that chip on his shoulder.

you might be right, i dunno.

I've just always thought the golden rule was that you don't talk about another team's player.

I don't have a ****ing crystal ball, but the point - one that has been iterated a million times - is we can - and i assume will - pick up additional picks moving back a little in the first.

I'll believe it when I see it. Until then I'm looking at an improbable solution from fans of a dumbass organization.
