I'd like a Dodger fans perspective: what was your thought on Mattingly letting Kershaw start the 5th inning? He'd just thrown 48 pitches, clearly looked done in the 5th.

With your $8 BILLION TV contract you should be relevant for a long time. It would be nice to meet in the playoffs every year. Get a good rivalry going.

And I really don't get the idea of a bunch of multimillionaires parading around with bushy and/or ratty beards like they're backwoods trailer trash.

I don't remember the 40s but my dad does. Dodger fans were the ones who gave Stan "the Man" his nickname. We had a good race with them in 1941 when we won 97 games but they won 100 (in a 154 game season). In 1942 the Cardinals came out on top after Pete Reiser suffered a concussion in July and was off his game the rest of the season. Cardinals won 106 games that year, Brooklyn 104. In 1946 the Cardinals swept 2 games in a 3 game playoff (first ever) when they tied for the pennant. In 1947 the Dodgers finished first with the Cardinals second. In 1948 it was the Boston Braves who won despite a career year from Stan the Man (.376 BA, 39 HR, 131 RBI) when he missed the triple crown because a home run was wiped out by rain, and despite Harry Brecheen going 20-7 with a 2.24 ERA. In 1949 the Cardinals won 96 games and again finished second to the Dodgers.

Outside of Crawford, Gonzalez and Puig, the Dodgers have 0 clutch hitting which i knew was going to be the death of this team. I been saying it the latter part of the season. A few guys in our line up need to be replaced with hope and not nope. Dodgers were 29th in hitting for a HUGE Part of the season. Well Runs scored, we were top 5 in batting average, go figure! lol |

Seems to make sense in the context of baseball. It's kind of an exaggeration of what that 93' Phillies team that made it to the WS

Hopefully this wasn't in earlier comments. Watched the game on DVR last night because of working late.
If you look at Kershaw's game log 7 runs off him is really something. In 33 starts he gave up more than 3 runs 3 times with the most being 5 which was only once. |
