Alex Smith did, does, and will always suck. (part 2)

Alex Smith played well, it's only preseason relax. We know we have our guy at QB, that's not the question. The question is the defense

Say what you want, but you guys had Bridgewater at #23 and Dorsey went for Dee Ford instead.

Bridgwater vs Cards: 16 of 20 for 177 yards. His game winning drive was 5 of 6 for 83 yards and a passing TD.

Bridgewater would have been a great guy for Alex to groom and would have learned a ton from him.

If you like Alex for your QB of the future and franchise QB, that is fine. I still think Dorsey should have taken a flyer on Bridgewater at #23 and let the chips fall where they may. At least you would have a chance for a true franchise QB IMHO. Oh well...

We're not going to take a qb in the first and there's no reason to. Ford was the right pick there.

Let's see...your current QB just got you into the play-offs. Should you spend your 1st and only pick for the next two rounds on his eventual replacement, or should you grab a guy you think can make an impact now in a position where there wasn't enough depth?

hmmmm....

You could make the same argument about spending that same 1st round pick on a guy who plays the same position as two Pro Bowl players, one of whom is your most established veteran defensive star and the other of whom is your best young defensive star.

Drafting Bridgewater as a 2015 replacement for Alex Smith makes just as much sense as drafting Dee Ford as a replacement for Tamba Hali.

Of course, to make that argument you'd have to be of the opinion that:

1) The Chiefs 2013 season was a fluke propped up by a weaker-than-expected schedule and luck
2) Alex Smith is not your long-term answer because what he would take to sign long-term would prevent you from putting enough talent around him to be successful.

If you're truly drafting BPA and think Bridgewater is the best player available and a 10-year, above-average starter in the NFL, he's the right pick.

Well, long ago I predicted Dorsey was shit and I received red karma after red karma for it.

The guy's drafts are ****ing awful. He had the number 1 pick and the best he could come up with is Eric Fisher. The guy isn't even strong enough to block a below average pass rusher. See Parys Haralson.

It's only a matter of time before that asshole signs Smith to a 6 year 100 million dollar deal. That's why we need to inflict as much red karma as we can so he plays poorly. In other words, ROOT FOR THEM TO LOSE.

Does everyone want another Matt Cassel situation? Evidently so. We have idiots that actually believed a 6 point half tonight was good.

For Christ's sake what the hell is going on around here?

Smith played the right level of aggressive. Had several excellent drives against a terrific defense.

He has to start closing drives. But in fairness, the playcalling in the red zone was extremely conservative and that was probably by Reid's design. Alex has to prove he can close drives in the red zone but for today, I don't think that was entirely Smith's fault.

Actually it was once but man you could just think of the touchdowns coming someday.

Would like to see Smith grow some balls and audible out of a 3rd and 14 screen pass sometimes. It's becoming as predictable as Haley with his ****ing shotgun McCluster draw plays.
