I wonder if part of that is the fact that they are calling fouls tighter the last couple of years coupled with the fact that KU has a very short bench rotation this year. They don't want to play as physically or they could foul out. Also doesn't help that we don't have a true shot blocker down low. However, this team's offensive rankings are probably up there with the best so that offsets a lot of the lack of defense.

It's the worst Kansas FT shooting team under Self.

Right now their FT shooting is 63.9% (325th in the country). The last time the Hawks were anywhere close to this bad at the FT line was 2007 where they shot 66% from the line.

None of those guys were elite defenders. Withey, Kaun, Aldrich (who was all around elite, but not on your list). But yeah, Lucas certainly isn't elite on offense or protecting the rim, but he is the best post defender by 14 miles. So that is saying something.

Frankly, we don't defend THAT badly in the post, but KU and most notably Svi and Vick cannot block out and secure a defensive rebound to save their stupid asses. If I were playing KU, I'd send everybody every play, **** the runouts.

Withey was ****ing disgusting. I almost felt bad for fools when they'd try to get a shot up in the lane.

I think that metric is understating Mason's defense. He doesn't get a lot of steals, nor is he an absolute stopper. But he rarely gets beat to the point he puts helpside defense in a bad position and he is an excellent rebounder. He isn't Releford embarrassing fools, but he is above average IMO.

Dude. Do you even watch when we lose? All the crap teams we lose to are because the other teams slog it all to **** and KU forgets that you need to move either yourself or the ball to get open and score. Sure you remember Ali Farokhmanesh bombing reeruned threes that happened to go, but far more often it is losing to a West Virginia type game than an ISU type game. Why? Dudes hack everything to ****ing **** because they aren't athletic enough to ball (See: Big 10).
