Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Pretty delusional.

It has been 43 years since the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

It has been 20 years since the Chiefs won a playoff game.

It has been 30 years since the Chiefs drafted a QB in the first round.

The Chiefs have THREE playoff wins since winning the Super Bowl. THREE.

In that time period, the Chiefs have REPEATEDLY brought in retread quarterbacks. Other team's garbage at the position. It has led to a lot of regular season wins, some division titles and even some homefield advantages in the playoffs. And that's where the list stops.

What's wrong with 8-8 is that it is the same old crap. Not one Chiefs fan should be satisfied with being "respectable" if it's not building towards having a chance at WINNING in the playoffs and making it to another Super Bowl. sadly, many will be. Because our fanbase is full of morons who refuse to admit you need an elite QB to win anything of consequence in today's NFL.

Unless the Chiefs draft and develop a franchise QB in the 2013 or 2014 draft, it's just more running in place.

who cares about winning football games? we are tired of winning football games. we want to win playoff games. the last time that happened for us, steve ****ing young was in the prime of his career. the cowboys and 49ers were the best teams in the league. does that put this into perspective for your dumbass? in that time, the chiefs fans have seen this exact scenario play out 4 or 5 times now. we don't want to go .500. we want to be the best. you don't become the best team in football by using some other team's back up. it just doesn't happen. we'd rather see another 2-14 season with our own rookie, than 8-8 with your TRASH. now get the **** out of here.

Whoopity-****ing-doo. This trade is setting this team back another 4-5 years, that's all it's doing.

What a ****ing nightmare.

Get it now, **** stick?
yea, what do us 49er fans know about superbowls compared to the chiefs?

maybe they drafted Kap, a boom or bust prospect, becuase Jim felt he could count on alex to play well until Kap was ready to go, or continue to win as starter if Kap did not develop into the player they hoped he could be.

The new CBA changed the way teams can draft quarterbacks. Now it is affordable to have a top ten pick, and a 6-8 mil gate keeper. Alex isn't preventing anybody from getting brought in, if you guys get a guy better than alex smith, he will take over as quarterback for you. Until you do, the team could do a lot worse than alex smtih.

You are in way over your head here. I've been a fan of this franchise for over 35 years now and we've seen this team take other teams castoffs and garbage, time and time again. It's like we're stuck in Groundhog Day and I for one am just absolutely sick and tired of it. You can try to tell us this chicken shit tastes like chicken salad but we've seen this so many times before. Just stop while you're behind.

If earth was a puzzle the QB piece would be water. A good QB hides many, many flaws and once you have that franchise guy it's incredibly easy to build around him.

Alex Smith is not that guy.

Yeah, its kinda funny. I see i have been named a turn coat on the forum, do me a favor, copy and paste this.

Hi all, this is snoop. To the great 49er fans here, i hope all is well. To the ones calling me a turn coat, and saying that I liked alex smith more than the 49ers, well, not exactly, i loved the 49ers but thanks to the depressive irritating fans on this board, I chose a side. even now that alex smith has brought great success to the 49ers with his mentoring of colin kaepernick, and camp alex, there are still guys here that bash the guy because hes not joe, or steve, or even colin. I cant accept that. And because of that, i was banned because my opinion was not popular opinion, and i voiced that. So, those who think im a turn coat, can kiss my tush. I could care less. best of luck to the true 49er fans, and to the rest of you, bite me.

Sincerely, Snoop

Yay! Someone sort of answered my question!

Of course "getting brought in" doesn't necessarily mean drafting, I'll take what answer I can get.

Terrible teams build through the draft to become good. The Chiefs build through other teams hand me downs and remain terrible.
