Holliday took a 95 mph fastball to the nose/face. Diaz goes on the DL with a pitch high and tight. Now Holliday goes to the DL with high and tight.

Neither one of those players hang over the plate and need to be backed off the plate. Rizzo on the other hand is literally got his hands over the plate as the ball is being delivered.

I don't want anyone injured either. but something needs to happen more than a fastball in the ribs.

Carlos Gomez is shot; his hip isn't recovered and at this point I don't expect it will.

If you're looking for a formerly productive, talented headcase, Yasiel Puig is still the guy to get.

Good luck with that. It's always a smart move to fire up the team with a pitcher that throws 105 and has plenty of games to spare in the division.

You could say the same thing about the Cardinals. We will be in the WC race all the way to the end and its a long way to go before the end.

Maybe both teams need an old fashioned brawl.

ESPN's Mark Saxon reports that the Cardinals "are indeed looking into trading for Carlos Gomez."
It essentially confirms a previous report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold, who said the Cards were kicking the tires. Saxon adds that the Gomez's ability to play center field is "big," as St. Louis has suffered from a lack of production there all season, both offensively and defensively. Gomez is certainly no safe bet to be an upgrade given his .210/.272/.322 batting line this season, but he's probably worth a shot since he can surely be had on the cheap. Saxon says that the Cards "might get outbid by the Mets" for Gomez.

You should never throw near someone's head unless their name is Adrian Gonzalez, Johnny ****o, Yasiel Puig, Kenny Loftin, or David Ortiz.

I'm all for it. Nothing like a good old brawl between old time rivals. Hoping we get another Cubs-Cards series in the playoffs. Best rivalry in baseball.
